The Big Bang and the Bible

The scientific belief that everything in the universe came from nothing before there was a "Big Bang," or a moment of creation, is something that all Christians and scientists can agree on, says a leading Christian apologist. Also, J. Warner Wallace argues that the primary premise of Big Bang Cosmology, that everything came from nothing, is consistent with Scripture.
"There are good scientific reasons to believe, good evidential reasons to believe that all space, time, and matter have a beginning. This idea that everything (space, time, and matter) came from nothing is the foundational premise of Big Bang Cosmology," Wallace told The Christian Post. "It turns out that the primary proposal is absolutely consistent with what we see in Scripture – that God has created everything from nothing and that moment of Creation is something that I see as having good evidence to support such a thing from Big Bang Cosmology."

Standing Up for Christianity in School

Public school students who've endured ridicule for their Christian beliefs created a newly released video, titled "The Thaw," in which they ask, "Why can't I pray in school? Why am I called names because I believe in marriage the way God designed it? Why can't Tim Tebow praise God after making a touchdown without causing a national uproar?"
These questions, and many others, are posed by Christian students who've experienced censorship from teachers and even bullying from classmates who ostracize them for their biblical worldview on marriage and the right to life.

'No Deal!' To This Atheist T-Shirt

A Utah T-shirt making business has refused to do an order of shirts for an atheist organization due to an objection to the message on the proposed T-shirt design.
TIKI Printing of West Valley declined the business of the group Atheists of Utah, which sought to have the Christian-owned company make them a two-sided T-shirt. The shirt would have featured the web address of Atheists of Utah on one side and the message "Gotta Be Real Cuz God Ain't."

A Clean Bill of Health!

Dwight L. Moody, the renowned evangelist, once said, "Church attendance is as vital to a disciple as a transfusion of rich, healthy blood to a sick man." A new study proves how right he was.
A study published in a recent issue of the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry reports a positive connection between church attendance and clinical depression. Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan found a 22 percent reduction in depression among those who went to church at least once a month compared to those who never attend.

Devaluing Marriage

Arguments offered in support of the British Government's push to redefine marriage illustrate the illogical foundation on which the endeavor rests. In fact, the government's own arguments show the true danger that marriage will face if those trying to redefine it are successful.

Holding the Line Against Broadcast Indecency

A nonpartisan organization that advocates for well-enforced decency standards for entertainment media is holding a week for awareness of possible changes in television and radio decency standards.
The Parents Television Council has announced that this week is "#NoIndecencyFCC Week," which is part of their effort to convince the Federal Communications Commission to keep their current decency standards.
Tim Winter, president of the Parents Television Council, told The Christian Post that "#NoIndecencyFCC Week" is based on the belief that the FCC's proposal on changing its decency standards is "extremely troublesome."

Strengthening Manhood With Biblical Leadership

A plethora of books have been written on the subject of manhood and what it means to be a father, husband, leader and more – and Pastor Eric Mason of Epiphany Fellowship has just added his own title to the list. But the Philadelphia minister says Manhood Restored: How the Gospel Makes Men Whole is unique in offering both a timely and theologically sound discussion on what it means to be a man in today's culture.
"I think there's a crisis in manhood in our culture and I believe Jesus is the answer to that," Dr. Mason told The Christian Post.

Science and Faith Hand in Hand

During the second weekend in April, the Vatican hosted what the Wall Street Journal called an "unusual conference."
At this "unusual conference," scientists, including a Nobel Laureate, theologians, and entrepreneurs came together to discuss one of the most contentious issues of our time: stem cell research.
This, the second annual "International Vatican Adult Stem Cell Conference" along with various related efforts had as a primary goal to "lay the groundwork for a collaborative network of scientists, educators and patrons who embrace the promise of adult stem cells."
Another goal was to promote what the head of the Pontifical Council for Culture called the "necessary union between science and faith." As Robin Smith, the CEO of NeoStem, a biopharmaceutical company, told conferees, "to address global suffering, one does not have to choose between faith and science . . . . These two ideas fit together symbiotically."

A River of Peace

I have never met a person who didn't want to experience peace. I am guessing you haven't either. We all long for it deep within our being. Our souls need peace the way our bodies need oxygen. There is no substitute for it.
It should come as no surprise to us that our Creator knows what will bring us peace. This is what He had to say on the subject when speaking to His children in the Old Testament: "I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river." (Isaiah 48:17,18)Read more at http://www.christianpost.com/news/how-to-have-peace-like-a-river-94945/#J0c2txYzWOmU0zV4.99
