  • Have You Heard About This Christian Scandal?

By Jim Daly on November 20,2012

What if I told you there's a story circulating within the national media today about a controversial female Christian evangelist who's wrapped up in a scandal of major proportions? The married evangelist in question has been rumored to have had several extramarital affairs, even one with a well-known Hollywood celebrity. Known for her progressive theology, some have accused her of peddling feminist propaganda in the midst of her preaching.

  • Does America Need Israel More Than Israel Needs America?

By Greg Laurie on November 19,2012

Let me make a controversial statement: In some ways, America needs Israel more than Israel needs America. Years ago, God made a promise to the patriarch Abraham and to his descendants, the Jewish people.

What makes organizations weak? Is it a failure of good strategic planning? Are there cultural issues that preclude good performance? Researchers found that accountability was the weakest link in organizational behavior.

There is, in the end, only two ways to read the Bible: is it basically about me or basically about Jesus? In other words, is it basically about what I must do, or basically about what he has done?

By Greg Stier on November 07,2012

Election night was a superbowl for America of sorts. Team Red lost and Team Blue won. I know Christians on both teams. So how should my red-faced brothers and sisters in Christ respond to the election results?

  • You Have My Vote!

  • Halloween and Evangelical Identity

By Russell D. Moore on October 31,2012

The words "evangelical" and "fundamentalist" have very little meaning. "Evangelical" includes, for some people, everyone from J.I. Packer to T.D. Jakes to Brian McLaren. I tried my hand at explaining the spectrum, with tongue in cheek. A conservative evangelical is a fundamentalist whose kids dress up for the church's "Fall Festival."

Politics can turn normally calm people into ranting, raving lunatics. This divisive subject can transform a friendly chat over coffee at a Starbucks into a venomous, verbal brawl. But it can also be a great segue into an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus.

  • Heaven Is for Real but Are Near-Death Experiences

By Greg Stier on October 19,2012
    Greg Stier

I just read the Newsweek magazine article "Heaven is Real" which was written from the perspective of a neurosurgeon who claims to have taken a trip to heaven while in a coma for seven days. So why do I tend to be suspect of firsthand accounts of those who say they died and then came back? Because the Bible has two clear promises which seem to contradict this.
