Going on a Journey to Christ

By Vivian S. Park|

According to the InterVarsity, a regional conference The Journey was held where thirty-six college students from across the nation were challenged to surrender their lives to Jesus and commit their lives in sharing Christ’s ‘forgiveness and leadership’ with their friends. The conference mainly focused on how they can share Jesus with other people.

Students were taught the importance of having a separate time for prayer and Bible study every day and sharing faith with others from the speakers at the conference.

Also several workshops were offered throughout The Great Adventure track, discussing relationships, time management, growing closer to Jesus, healing, and forgiveness. Again the workshop were designed to help them share Jesus with their friends. Through these workshops many students recommitted their lives to Christ.

After the conference Danielle from New York immediately shared what God has shown her through out the weekend with other fellow students and all of them expressed a desire to see their non-Christian friends to come to know Jesus. They wanted to be used as a tool to introduce the Lord to others and help them forming relationship with Him.

The InterVarsity writes that through conferences like The Journey, InterVarsity seeks to help students realize the true meaning of “Jesus is Lord” so that they could be more challenged about what must be done after giving that confession. In his letter to the Philippians in the Bible, Paul writes that, “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” (Philippians 2:10-11, NIV). The Journey conference trains and equips students with the tools they need to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and bring others into the Kingdom of God.
