CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Three Americans killed when a truck filled with charity workers overturned in Honduras were from a Georgia-based outreach program that helps build homes in poor villages, the mission's organizer said Wednesday.

Ten others injured in the wreck were treated for head injuries and broken bones, Honduras Outreach Inc. said.

Chairman Jerry Eickhoff said the group was devastated.

"Members of these mission teams are here because they are dedicated to serving others," he said. The non-denominational Christian group sends about 1,100 people a year on short-term trips to Honduras.

The truck overturned in rugged terrain Tuesday while carrying 28 adults from four churches, said Honduran police spokesman Jose Andino.

Honduras Outreach Inc. identified the dead as Perry Goad, 45; Richard Dupree Mason Jr., 58; and Martha Aline Fuller, 66. All three had previously been to Honduras.

Goad and Mason were members of Tabernacle Baptist in Cartersville, Ga. Fuller was a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church in Newnan, Ga., according to Honduras Outreach.

The flag at Tabernacle Baptist flew at half-staff Wednesday. The church, which has about 1,200 members, held a vigil Tuesday evening.

"We were stunned. We were shocked. But we are hopeful. We trust the Lord," said the Rev. Don Hattaway.
