With the Final Four approaching for the NCAA College Basketball Tournament, a Tulsa-based radio station has boiled down the top Christian songs from 2007 into its own Final Four.

100.3 The Kross, a Christian rock station in Texas, is now running its fourth annual “March Music Madness” contest which battles 64 of this year’s best songs against each other in the same style as the NCAA tournament. Among this year’s Final Four are “When Tomorrow Comes” (Pillar) vs. “Oh Gravity!” (Switchfoot) and “Hit The Floor” (Thousand Foot Krutch) vs. “Rebirthing” (Skillet).

“Last year Pillar went home as the big winner, beating out Demon Hunter by just 10 percent of the vote!” explained the website. “This year it could be anyone!”

The way the contest works is that the station first seeds the top 64 requested Christian rock songs on the radio, and puts them into a bracket. Then station listeners are encouraged to go online where they can fill out their own brackets with the songs they think will win. Brackets were due on Mar. 11.

Afterwards, listeners vote on which songs they prefer, and the most voted on songs move to the next round where they will be voted on again. This continues until a champion is announced.

As of now, the contest is in its fifth round with only four songs remaining.

Once the tournament is finished, the person with the best bracket, who will be announced on Apr. 3 at 4:50 p.m., will receive free music every month for the rest of their life. Second and third place finishers get CD bricks, containing multiple artist albums, from The Kross.

Top song simply gets bragging rights.
