In Aurora, Illinois, a Christian construction worker was working on a new 22,000 square-foot office building. But the owner, Gemini Office Development, wanted some unusual features. Why, the construction worker wondered, would the owners want bullet-proof windows and multiple surgical rooms?
It turned out Gemini Office Development was in reality a front group for Planned Parenthood, which planned to open a super-sized abortion clinic. Its an example of just how devious Planned Parenthood isand of how the abortion industry is running scared.
When Planned Parenthoods front group went to the city for permission to build, it claimed that a tenant had not yet been chosen for what it termed an office building.
When Aurora residents learned what was actually being built, many of them objected. Many, angered at the deceit perpetrated upon the city, asked Aurora city officials to deny a permit for permanent occupancy.
In response, Planned Parenthood claimed it had no choice but to lie: After all, if citizens knew an abortion clinic was being built, they might, well, protest. Well, of course they would!
Aurora hired attorneys to determine whether Planned Parenthoods deceit created a fatal flaw in the approvals the abortion facility got from the city. Thousands of pro-life citizens launched 40 days of prayer and protest in front of the clinic.
In the end, the city allowed the abortion clinic to open. But the battle over this mega-clinic reveals an important truth. Planned Parenthood claims that abortion is accepted by American societythat it is only a few religious cranks who object to it. But if thats true, why all the secrecy?
The reality is that support for abortion-on-demand is dropping like a rock. Too many people now know the truth about abortionthat it takes the life of a healthy human baby.
Planned Parenthood is also demonizing pro-life citizens by suggesting that there is something wrong with objecting or protesting. There isnt. Protest is an important part of American life. In fact, our country was founded on it.
Citizens have not only a right but a duty to object when they see businesses moving into their towns that might cause harm to their fellow citizens. Imagine the outcry if, say, Wal-Mart were caught trying to sneak a new store into townand they claimed they had to lie about what they were building because they did not want to deal with objections or protesters.
Through the prophet Isaiah, God paints a beautiful picture of what a community that seeks righteousness will look like: My people, God says, will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.
How can a community be at peaceenjoy shalomwhile babies are being put to death down the street?
Albert Schweitzer in his book Reverence for Life said that we can either make history or suffer history. It all depends on whether or not we have a reverence for human life.
So three cheers to the citizens of Aurora who fought the secret abortion clinicwho took a stand for the reverence for human life. They are being the best of citizens. Maybe their actions will allow us to make history, rather than suffer history.

The pro-choice group wants to deny free speech to anyone opposed to them. And the liberal media definitely does not want the pro-choicers put in a bad light. That's why you will see very little of this in any mainstream news media.
While I appreciate being informed of stories like this--and am in total agreement with the reporter--what strikes me the wrong way is we are preaching waaaaay too much to the choir. This kind of information needs to be exposed more to the mainstream papers and media than to anybody else. Why not put more money into that so this information gets into the hands of those who really need understanding rather than just keep writing to Christian sites where we're supposed to know this stuff already?
Let's start putting these articles and this important information in papers like USA Today,New York Times,ect.ect. That's where this information needs to be printed.
JC - I fully agree with your last two paragraphs - you summed it up nicely. But you are wrong about abortion not being supported by the majority of US citizens. We as Christians turn out to vote more than any other block of voters with the exception of AARP eligible members. That is why those that are okay with abortion don't want it on the agenda because the two biggest blocks of voters are primarily against it.
Personally, I believe in a consistant ethic of life. There should be no abortion and no death penalty. I don't know when life technically begins - like you said JC - only God knows for sure - but I certainly know prisoners are alive when they are executed.
Look deeper at what is going on here.
First, where are they getting the money to build? Bullet proof glass is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Could this be the real reason for secrecy? It's just possible that they could want their investors to remain transparent. Why?
Second, Abortion is not supported by the majority of the American people. Suggesting anything else is merely propoganda. How do I come to this conclusion you ask. Simple. Why has abortion never gone for a public vote? Why won't they put abortion on the ballot?
It would get voted down hard. It would end all public debate. And, more importantly, it would end the funding these organizations receive from "outside" sources. They can't have that. Their funding is obviously more important to them than, let's say, a human life.
The abortion case all boils down to this: Does life begin at conception or birth? That question is still the core of it all. It has been glossed over, painted over, and even an attempted erasure from time to time. But, it still is very much the heart of the matter.
They way I look at it, nobody except God knows when the soul is placed in the flesh. And, if there is even the slightest bit of chance that there is life, we should not destroy it. That is murder. Scientists, doctors and the like, have all used the argument that there is not really life there, "It's just a mass of tissue...", etc. But in the end, they don't know either. It's arrogant presumption at best and completely irresponsible and unethical.
1. Support for legal abortion is not falling. A plurality of Americans considers itself pro-choice. A majority believes it should be legal in certain circumstances.
2. You don't think PP has a right to be concerned about religious extremists picketing in front of their business? No matter how small the group of protesters, PP has the right to be concerned.
