Arabs Denounce Dutch Anti-Islam Film

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) - Islamic and Arab leaders denounced a Dutch film Saturday that portrays Islam as a ticking time bomb aimed at the West, demanding international laws to prevent insults to religions.

Pakistani protesters march during a rally protesting both a recent Dutch Film that portrays Islam as a ticking time bomb aimed at the West, and the Danish newspaper cartoon images of Muhammad from Sept. 2005, in Peshawar, Pakistan, Friday, March. 28, 2008.

The 15-minute film entitled "Fitna," or "ordeal" in Arabic, by Dutch anti-immigrant politician Geert Wilders brought condemnations from Muslim capitals and street protests in Pakistan after it was posted on a Web site Thursday.

The film came on the heels of the republishing in Danish papers of a cartoon of Islam's Prophet Muhammad that Muslims view as insulting.

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir called on Muslims at an Arab summit in Damascus to "challenge those who insult" the prophet and proposed "a binding international charter" calling for the respect of religious beliefs.

"The offenses against our Arab and Islamic nations under the banner of freedom of expression are derogatory and defamatory and go against all human values," al-Bashir said.

In Cairo, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit called Wilders' film "a humiliation" to Islam.

Wilders said he made the film because "Islam and the Quran are dangers to the preservation of freedom in the Netherlands in the long term, and I have to warn people of that." It shows statements from radical clerics and cites Quranic verses interspersed with images from Sept. 11, 2001, and other terror attacks.

The European Union's 27 foreign ministers said they too objected to the film's depiction of Islam.

"This view is sharply rejected," they said in a joint statement released at the end of a two-day meeting in Slovenia. "The vast majority of Muslims reject extremism and violence."

But unlike the Arab leaders, the European ministers defended the right to freedom of speech and called on Muslims to react peacefully. "Feeling offended is no excuse for aggression or threats," they said.

The Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference said the film was intended to fuel hatred of Islam and "incite disturbances, conflicts and to threaten the security and stability of the world."

The organization's secretary-general, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, said at the Damascus summit that the cartoons and the film only increase anti-Islamic sentiments in the West at a critical time. However, he praised the Dutch government for distancing itself from the movie.

Predominantly Muslim Malaysia has urged the Dutch government to censure Wilders, calling the film irresponsible and disrespectful to Muslims worldwide.

In a statement late Saturday, Malaysia's foreign ministry issued a statement to "strongly condemn" the movie.

"Portraying Islam as a religion advocating extremism is not only misleading and erroneous but also blatant disregard and utter disrespect for Islam and the sensitiveness of the Muslim world," Foreign Minister Rais Yatim said in the statement.

Hundreds of Muslims have demonstrated in Pakistan over the film and the country's Foreign Ministry summoned the Dutch ambassador to deliver an official complaint against what it called a "defamatory film which deeply offended the sentiments of Muslims all over the world."

The Muslims actually are the ones defending and delivering their so called god from afflictions, meanwhile in Christianity our living God are the One who defends and deliver us from all sin and spiritual death. A complete 180

hooray for wilders. He accomplished an amazing feat, shine light to 1.5 billion people all at once. If only he had preached the gospel with it he could have done more with that video than the Jesus video accomplished.

One question hasn't the anti-god media also shown footage of schools where they are taught to actually chant death to the infedels, death to the Americans, death to the Jews...so on and so on...

    PART TWO

First off, the film, "Fitna," is not "Anti-Islam." It does show the cartoon of Mohammed with a bomb in his turban at the beginning and end. But there's a reason for this. The rest of the film merely proves this assertion to be true by showing verses straight from the Qur'an that call for ALL MUSLIMS to murder in the name of Allah, with photos of news headlines and still pictures of murder victims (some of them women, killed to protect the family's "honor" when they dated someone their father didn't approve of), and videos of public beheadings, shootings, bombings ... etc.

In an ironic twist, a Muslim cleric made the statement that the "Mujahideen" (terrorists) could have easily made this film to highlight their - for lack of a better term - holy acts. (Since they do what they do not by PERVERTING the Qur'an, but by following the Qur'an WORD-FOR-WORD.) In other words, watching bodies blown to bits, heads sawed off, public hangings ... are all for the GLORY of Allah, and could potentially be a great RECRUITING TOOL for the terrorists (which are the TRUE adherents of Islam - the 'peaceful' or 'moderate' Muslims are actually the ones in violation of the Qur'an!).

Bottom line, the "holy book" of "The Religion of Peace" calls for ALL MUSLIMS to do these things. Just in case you were wondering, if you're a Christian, the Qur'an says that you are a "dog" that Muslims are NOT to befriend. There's a term for this - Taqiyyah. It's a form of lying. Yes - LYING is a SACRED DUTY, according to Allah!

Oh, and in Muslim countries, you would be subjected to the Jizya (or 'whole') tax. It's only imposed on Jews and Christians ('People of the Book') - anyone else would be murdered outright. When a Muslim says that Jews and Christians are shown 'respect,' it means that they are offered the 'opportunity' to embrace Islam. If they do, fine. If they don't, then the Jizya tax is imposed. What this means is that all of your belongings (including marriageable daughters) are taken, until you feel yourself 'subdued.' If you submit to the Jizya, fine. If not, then the Muslims are to pray to Allah to help them to MURDER YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. This is ALL in the Qur'an.

If you want the truth, go to Jihad Watch. The Muslims foam at the mouth over this site, because Robert Spencer shows IN THEIR OWN WORDS, and backs up WITH NEWS EVIDENCE, what Islam is really all about - and they DESPERATELY don't want you to know this. www.jihadwatch.org

And when you're ready to learn how the Muslims are waiting to worship the Antichrist and False Prophet (the Imam al-Mahdi and Issa), and how they plan to call the biblical Jesus the devil (Dajjal), visit Joel Richardson's "Will Islam Be Our Future?" website. The book is free to read online - this information is too valuable to charge for. http://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/JR/Future/index.htm

    < Sarcasm alert >

Well, didn't the radical Christianists riot and bomb places all over the world when "The DaVinci Code", which mocked their religion, came out? And didn't they burn the American flag and chant "Freedom Go To Hell" when South Park portrayed God as a dwarfish purple space alien? Or how about when they issued a death threat to Willem Dafoe after he portrayed a sexually tempted Jesus in "The Last Temptation of Christ?" Nobody remembers any of this??

    < End of sarcasm >

    END OF PART ONE

I've not seen the film. But whether it's a film or cartoons or whatever, I find it ironic that the Muslim god is so weak, his radical followers have to prop him up and defend him by resorting to violence and kill any perceived enemy. Reminds me of Elijah on Mt. Carmel asking the false prophets if their god had fallen asleep. If mere mortals have to defend their god by blowing up others, is that not saying their god is either asleep or pretty impotent? Then how can he really god? Sorry allah - I don't think you're really even there, or if you are, you're pretty demented, given the behaviour of your followers. Hmm. Come to think of it, their behaviour reminds me of satan. I'll stick with the one true God who conquered sin and death, Jesus Christ the righteous.

It was only a matter of time........

Now onto the peace talks please.

Great. Now the radicals have an excuse to blow something else up.

In fairness to both sides, I've seen the video on Youtube.com. Just search for "Fitna." I think that the beginning and ending images of a turban bomb could be removed, and all offense with it. The most disturbing part of the video was not the beginning or ending, but rather the specific verses in the Koran that call faithful Muslims to violence against ALL who do not embrace Islam, with many current examples of that violence after each.

It is time that the world call Islam to answer for the violence that is produced today by "the religion of peace," for Christianity also advocates peace, except we have as our head "The Prince of Peace," Jesus Christ.

You make the call: Mohammed or the Messiah. I choose the Messiah.

It's ironic that calling Islam violent inevitably brings Muslim violence. There truly is no sense of irony in Muslim countries, nor is there love, charity, kindness, forgiveness or anything else that Christianity teaches. Because Islam is the antithesis of Christianity. It turns Christian virtues on their heads, and it preaches instead, hatred for the other, violence and domination, strong over the weak, vengeance instead of forgiveness, etc. Islam is truly a dark, twisted, Satanic religion. Wilders was simply making a point, and his film has already proved his point amply.

While I do appreciate the Christian Post, I mean come one, you can't just reprint an AP story with a line like this from Omar himself and just let it fly by. Come on, be more responsible than the AP.

Who is Islam trying to fool with this "religion of peace" facade?

I call a hateful Christian lukewarm.

I call a loving Muslim... lukewarm.

  • Sun Mar 30, 2008 10:59 am : 1 : 0 Flag

hahaha, yes it is ironic, as is most of Islam.

  • Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:53 am : 3 : 0 Flag

How dare you point out Islam has a violent nature intrinsic to it's basic message. For this we will riot and destroy you .

Kind of ironic messaging here, isn't it? Maybe its just me.
