American Evangelist John Hagee addresses a crowd of his followers and Israeli supporters at a rally at the Jerusalem convention center, Sunday, April 6, 2008.

Hagee, a Christian Zionist who has been in the spotlight lately for endorsing presidential candidate John McCain and criticizing the Catholic Church, brought hundreds of backers on a solidarity trip to Israel.

Hagee and his group, Christians United for Israel, joined keynote speaker Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of Israel's hard-line opposition Likud Party, at a rally in support of Jerusalem remaining united and under Jewish control.

"Turning part or all of Jerusalem over to the Palestinians would be tantamount to turning it over to the Taliban," Hagee told an audience filled with Americans who waved Israeli flags and cheered.

Palestinians claim the eastern part of the city, captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war, as the capital of their future state.

Hagee said his group was giving $6 million to 16 Israeli causes. Recipients include the Magen David Adom rescue service and a conference center in the West Bank Jewish settlement of Ariel.

The fate of Jewish settlements like Ariel is at the heart of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The support of evangelicals for Israel's continued control of the West Bank endears them to Israeli hard-liners but troubles more dovish activists.

McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, distanced himself last month from Hagee following an uproar over the San Antonio megachurch leader's comments on Catholicism.

Hagee has called the Roman Catholic Church "the great whore" and a "false cult system." He has also suggested that the Catholic church helped shape Adolf Hitler's anti-Semitism.

Hagee has vehemently denied he is anti-Catholic and said his remarks have been mischaracterized.

Hagee is a nut-case, but you have to give him credit for his ability to pick the pockets of his followers and turn himself into a millionaire.

I repeat: "Ministers" like Hagee need to be tarred, feathered and given their wlking papers. You wouldn't catch me in any church he pastored. GOD save us from clergy like Hagee. I find amusing though; the thoughts of Hagee finally making his way to the Pearly Gates and when the gets to what he thinks is his reserved seat, someone else is sitting in it. Preferably a Catholic...would serve him right! LOL

It is pretty evident that John Hagee cares nothing about his fellow brothers and sisters unless they agree with every detail of what he is doing. I do not know if he has done this lately but at one time he was pretty bold about calling Christians unsaved if they did not agree with his extreme unBiblical views. This was the last time I watched him. He has become judge and jury on the salvation of other people. Of course he will not support those Christian believers in Israel. He could care less about them. He was silent when the Knesset was considering jailing Christians for trying to win them to Christ. It would not surprise me if he is hostile to them as well. He says nothing when one sect of Jews buring their Christian relatives alive when they convert. The main issue is that he does not believe that Jesus came as the saviour/messiah of the Jews. Anyone that dares to get his latest book In Defense of Israel can read this heresy in the chapter Answering Christian Critics.

I find it really sad how deception can really make a person look like an absolute fool. The man really needs a lot of prayer. Only the Lord can change his mind. He is not listening to his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. He will be doing a Night to Honor Israel service Monday night at a local church. I had sincerely thought about going and praying during the service. At one time I was really angry about how mean he had gotten towards his fellow brothers and sisters. He has placed the Jews above Christians. After reading that chapter in his book I became really sad for him. A child could tear apart what he said in that chapter. I literally almost cried reading it. The Lord loves John Hagee. I just hope that the Lord can get to him because he is in dangerous territory at this point. He is no different that Oprah or Carlton Pearson. There is no other way to the Father but through Christ. That is a fact for every person on earth whether they like it or not.

How much of that $6 million given to Israeli causes is going to brothers and sisters in Christ in Israel?

From what I've read, none. In fact I read earlier this evening that its been reported that nether CUFI or the Int’l Fellowship of Christian and Jews and all of the other secular money raising groups for Israel in the name of Christ, do not give one penny to the needy Jewish believers in Jesus Christ in Israel.

Does God care more about money which is given to Israel for political purposes, or money used to help those who are of Christ's body, in dire need, within Israel or even Palestinian? The Lord I serve and love cares about people...not a piece of land. He didn't die and rise again for a piece of land.

Pastor Hagee remarks have been mischaracterized by the media.

Roman Catholic Church is a big part of the body of Christ here today and I am sure Pastor Hagee appreciates fellow brothers and sisters in Roman Catholic Church.
He is a man being used by our great Lord to gather efforts to support the Israelis and worldwide Christian.

Although I must say Mr. Binyamin Netanyahu agenda in this instance needs further clarification, being that if Likud is getting some of the Christian money then Likud must support safety , wellbeing and progress of Christians in the Holyland, regardless of Labor, Kadima, Shas and Beiteinu stance in this issue.

But we agree that Jerusalem capital of Israel for last 3000 years needs to be in FULL control the Israeli especially East Jerusalem.

Pastor Hagee meanwhile needs to address the attacked Christian missions and community in Israeli + Fatah controlled West Bank and also Hamas controlled Gaza.

Personally I believe Pastor Hagee needs to speak up on this issue vehemently

Jesus will fullfil these promises when he comes are restores all things. Bible prophecy is a fascinating study; regarding the “seven year tribulation” period – here is another thought. From Genesis to Revelation, there is no exact passage that specifically mentions a seven-year period of tribulation at all. The entire theory is really based on a rather speculative interpretation of two little words in one single verse. The text is Daniel 9:27; and the two words are, “one week.”

Based on the day-year principle (which is valid), the “one week” remaining in this prophecy must refer to a period of seven years. Pro-rapture promoters claim this is the seven-year period of tribulation. Their idea is that while the first 69 weeks (or 483 years) did reach to the first coming of Jesus Christ, the prophetic clock has stopped because the Jewish people largely rejected Him. Then they slide the 70th week (the last seven years) all the way down to the end times, call it the tribulation, and say it applies to the Jewish people after we’re gone; however, historically, the vast majority of well-respected Bible scholars did not apply Daniel 9:27 to a seven-year period “in the future”.

“By offering himself a sacrifice once and for all [Jesus] shall put an end to all the Levitical sacrifices.” – Matthew Henry applied Daniel 9:27 to Christ, not antichrist.

Daniel 9:27 - “term of seven years,” Jesus Himself would “confirm or ratify the new covenant with mankind.” – Adam Clarke.

“He shall confirm the covenant – Christ. The confirmation of the covenant is assigned to Him.” – Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary.

“Seventy weeks” refers to one consecutive block of time (sequential weeks). It is illogical to insert a 2,000-year gap between the 69th and 70th week.

God has a plan and he will carry it out. God will fullfill his promise to Isreal to inherit all of the land, from the River to the Sea and from Jordan to Egypt. After his second coming, Christ the Messiah will return and rule and reign there 1,000 years. What I'm worried about is the approaching seven-year tribulation period preceeding the secoming; I expect to be call up to meet Christ and gather with those who have died and risen, and so forever be with the Lord, as Jesus promised in 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

    Amen SeekingHim, amen...

Christ died for all: "whosoever will"...

Hagee's agenda is political only, based on his faulty interpretation of bible prophecy.

    I agree; -

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed - Romans 9:8

And people wonder why they (Muslims) can hate us so easily?
How much to we see the leadership of political Israel seeking after God? Isn't that a more important requirement for God returning the land to them than anything else?
There is no solid evidence in the Bible that Biblical Israel is equal with the modern political state of Israel.
