Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading provider of surgical abortions, registered the largest number of abortions on record last year, according to its latest report.
According to figures, the pro-choice organization registered the largest percentage increase in abortions in over a decade. During the 2006-2007 period, 289,570 abortions were performed throughout its 860 locations, an increase of nearly 25,000.
Although separate and independent studies reveal that the number of abortions throughout the country decreased overall last year, Planned Parenthood records show it was little affected by recent declining trends.
Last year, Planned Parenthood serviced record numbers of patients and earned over $1 billion in profits.
"If Planned Parenthood were a publicly traded company, they'd be celebrating," said Jim Sedlack, vice president of the American Life League, according to Cybercast News Service. "The stockholders would be screaming, 'Wow, what a good year we had!'"
According to the American Life League, Planned Parenthood now performs one of out every four abortions in the country.
"While most companies have started to feel the squeeze of our sagging economy, business has never been better for Planned Parenthood," Tony Perkins, president of the conservative Family Research Council, added.
Even worse, according to pro-life groups, was the increase in tax payer funding that Planned Parenthood received last year, serving to both bolster its abortion rate and help aid its agenda by helping elect pro-choice candidates.
According to Perkins, Planned Parenthood would spend nearly $10 million this year to help elect pro-choice candidates.
Last year, Planned Parenthood received over $300 million in tax payer funding – an increase of nearly 11 percent.
"We must stop the flow of government money into the hands of this baby-killing business," Sedlak added, according to lifenews.com.
Founded in 1916 by Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood operates in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, describing itself as "the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider."

The reason Planned Parenthood so easily gets away with murder is because their clients don't believe they are killing a child. And face it, selfishness is the primary reason for abortion. People don't want to wait until they are married to have sex. I believe the majority of the abortions today are young girls who didn't wait, got pregnant and did not want the responsibility of raising a child or didn't have the financial means. Uh, duh, something that should have been thought about before having sex? Add to this the growing number of single women who say, "It's my body, I will do whatever I want with it" and who want sex but no marriage commitment. Rape and mother/child's life being in danger are the smallest percentages when it comes to reasons for abortion. I do understand that it is difficult raising a child as a single parent because there are many women who have attempted it when the baby's daddy ran out on them... so why are there so many women having babies by different fathers? Didn't they learn from their mistake the first time? Sex has become so casual that it means nothing any more. And a unborn child is not valued as a potential life that could be brought into this world - a person who could end up changing humanity in some way.
There is no justification for killing a child who did absolutely nothing wrong. The parents had sex and they now have a child on the way. People’s dysfunctional view of sex and parenthood outside God's order has led this country and others back into practicing the evils of barbarianism. The very same way they use economics to justify killing babies, they will use that very same hedonistic doctrine to justify killing people as a food source. They will just have to say, "Well, I was hungry. No one should deprive me of my right to eat!" And the judge who disregards God's word in the Bible will let him go to kill again." Now you have the legal justification of cannibalism. Yet when the wicked deny slippery slops arguments to point they will call them fallacies, we should ask them ‘what unchanging moral code do they really have as the foundation of justice?’ They have none.
Now do you see? There is no absolute system of justice, sanctity of human life, care for the less fortunate, and no moral foundation in a secular humanism or an atheistic worldview - and quite frankly we should not expect it from them. I expect them to continue to self-destruct, continue to glorify violence and savage images on TV. I expect more youth to get STD's. I expect their children to be born with genetic mutations and learning disabilities because their parents never knew they were related to each other and believed in “free love.” Note: Satan has lied to the American. Love is never free. Someone will always have to pay the bill. Even the paycheck a person receive for their work sinning will cause something to die. “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Jesus Christ the Lord.”
I expect the wicked to worship the creation instead of the Creator just as the Bible said and then pay the consequences proving justice of God. I expect them to be God-haters because the ONE and ONLY God is HOLY, and all people are natural born law-breakers, which is evident in a nation that celebrates rebellion. But to those have survived this abortion holocaust in America and experienced the grace of God through Jesus Christ will contend by prayer and by love-motivated action see things changed. When there is more sin welcomed as a great thing in a land, I expect that more death and injustice will be near at hand. If God’s people who are called by His Name (the name above every name – Jesus) DO NOT humble themselves and DO NOT PRAY, and DO NOT SEEK THE FACE OF GOD. Then I would not expect God to hear us from heaven, to forgive our sins nor heal our land.

concerning economics.....big business is out to make money , same reason why you vote for who you vote for....Democrats tax big business with a capital gains tax here in America which causes profits to go down, they go over seas or hire people that work for less than min. wage aka. immigrants, Republicans want to take the extra 20% taxing on profits on companies here in America and let business makers (owners) keep more of their capital and in turn have a reason for staying in this country. Democrats want to tax them more? Does this make sense, don't they realize it will drive them out of business or to other markets?...I don't imagine you've thought of this, if you vote for the candidate based on how well they can make your future prosperous (or at least promise it) then you are doing the same things that big business does....

Is there a good reason why my tax dollars are funding sketch places like Planned Parenthood? If you want an abortion, you better pay for for it. I don't care how much it costs or how poor you are, I won't help any woman kill her baby (for whatever reason)!
Just wanted to correct myself a bit, not all of Planned Parenthood is payed for by Government, alot of donations and etc. help that group as well.
The very fact that an abortion industry can profit 1 billion dollars says alot. Our oil industries on a very good year profit about 18 billion. If an abortion group can profit 1/18th of an Oil company...thats darn impressive. Some big companies can't even match that.

$1 billion in profits...how does a company that is funded also make such a hefty profit? how does a company funded that makes a hefty profit in turn take the same money and suppport certain candidates? this is sickening. Money is taken from me to kill children, support candidates who support killing children, and then they get elected to give more of my money to a "cause" aka "atrocity" that devalues human life in the highest.....
