SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The attorneys general of 10 states are urging the California Supreme Court to delay finalizing its ruling to legalize same-sex marriage.
The attorneys general say in court documents filed Thursday that they have an interest in the case because they would have to determine if their states would recognize the marriage of gay residents who wed in California.
They want the court to stay its ruling until after the November election, when voters likely will decide whether to amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage.
California Attorney General Jerry Brown is urging the court not to grant the stay.
The states involved are Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah.

Actually if "State's rights" is what is at issue here - perhaps a knock-down-drag-out over this between the states is what is needed to once and for all in order to escalate the entire matter to the federal level.
Some in the gay community aren't liking discussion. Temper tantrum; temper tantrum.
This is the 3rd time today that he's/she's flagging everyone. Temper tantrum; temper tantrum.
Whoever keeps flagging my post should stop.
All I've said is for the voters of California need to get out and vote to amend their constitution. The church needs' to rise up and get out the vote.
They're throwing a temper tantrum!
The gay agenda is strong and active AND going to these articles to TRY and squelch people of faith and their POSTS.
Good sign that they are losing public opinion and support and it has activated me to take action as I hadn't been doing before.

God bless you all,
This is a trumpet call to battle!!! For too long we have just stood by and have done nothing and it's time that we join the fight for our country! High gas prices, the mortgage crisis, fall of the US dollar, recession, political corruption, increase of immorality and natural disasters are all a wake up call so that we can open our eyes and get active! We are not a minority, 90% of Americans believe in God and only 2% are atheist and part of the "gay community". But obviously the minority has united and mobilized in the cause to distort this countries perception of it's Judeo-Christian foundation.
If you enjoy the high gas prices, millions of people losing their homes, cyclones, brush fires, earthquakes, terrorism, incurable diseases, famine, recession, murder, crime and all types of evil. Then just continue to do nothing, but if you want to soften the blow on God's judgments on this land then read my latest blog post. After reading it please forward this as an e-mail to as many people as possible so they can join the fight to save America.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
In Jesus name, Amen!

You said "...floodgates to gay marriage[sic] across the nation"
I think I'm going to have to agree with you. Unfortunately, that same flood gate will allow pedophiles to marry kids, polygamist to marry as many women or men as they want, and bestiality sexual orientation will be able to marry their pets. I mean, after all, we wouldn't want to discriminate against those that were born this way - as they will exclaim. And we certainly don't want to tell others whom or what they should love. Right?
Daniel Paul:
If you believe your rights are affected by California's ruling, I would love to see you take this to court. How on earth would you prove that your rights are negatively affected? Actually, your case would set a wonderful precidence and open the floodgates to gay marraige across the nation.
California will probably continue to act unreasonably and irrationally. That's largely what that state is all about. No state can be forced to accept California's culturally dysfunctional values. Other states just need to say no on this issue. Meanwhile, California would be wise to wait and see what the will of the people there is. However, that would mean acting rationally, something we have come not to expect from California and its courts.
It would be unwise to not stay the ruling as it could cause other states to defend their rights to an opposite position. To not stay the ruling would be an attempt to force their ruling on other states and show intolerance to others views. Wouldn't that be the exact opposite of what the ruling was about? Tolerance is never a substitute for right and wrong.
"Cue the banjo..." ??? Is that anything like "I hear banjo music..." ?
10 to 1 California will continue its tyrannical patterns and deny the request.
