Planned Parenthood, the nations leading provider of surgical abortions, could save millions of dollars on abortion related drugs if a new war funding bill passes through the House this year, according to pro-life groups.
Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America, said she was disappointed with the Senate Appropriations Committees recent decision to add an amendment to the 2008 War Supplemental Bill (H.R. 2642) that would give Planned Parenthood facilities discounted drugs.
"Planned Parenthood already has a massive markup on its drugs. They get them at a severely reduced price as it is, and then they turn around and sell them for a rather high price to their clients, she explained, according to Cybercast News Service.
Many of the discounted drugs would include those that can be used for an abortion such as the so-called morning after pill, Wright says.
But perhaps most incredulous, according to pro-life groups, is that the latest measure would be just one example of how Planned Parenthood continues to finance its operations at the expense of taxpayers.
Earlier this year, a study released by the organization revealed that it had received over $300 million in tax payer funding an increase of nearly 11 percent from the previous year.
Last year, the pro-choice organization also said it serviced record numbers of patients and earned over $1 billion in profits, despite an overall decline in the number of abortions throughout the nation.
Founded in 1916 by Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood operates in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, describing itself as "the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider."

Barbara Bush once told her husband never to mention abortion from any political platform, because it was none of his business. I agree with Mrs. Bush.

Same old song and dance.
The Federal Government employees need to scrutinize the work of Planned Parenthood. Many do not realize that it is using the facade of helping, teaching and planning parenthood, while all the while they are advising, promoting and securing the murder of the unborn. I have heard the agony of women deluded by this organization and regretting as well as having lasting emotional pain from allowing them to abort their babies.

I think this fits the definition of" wind fall profits" Perhaps congress should be looking at Planned Parenthood instead of the oil company's.
