WEATHER: Israel's summers can be very hot, and rain in the winter months can turn the ground into an almost-impassable clay-like mud. But the weather is predictable. The best months to hike in Israel are March and April and September through November.

Thank you for this beautiful article Ms Copans.

Our family have beautiful memories in our pilgrim there down in lower Galilee, especially in Tabhga, Capernaum, Mt Beatitudes, Cana. Yes, bring lots of water and sun screen. Please don't go there in August for its the hottest time of the year - October is best if not next April.

Nain is one more interesting site but the Muslim there said it is not advisable for pilgrim hike.
