Shane & Shane to Release First Christmas Album

By Aaron Leichman|Christian Post Reporter

Christian songwriting duo Shane & Shane will be releasing their first-ever Christmas project while many stores around the nation will still be putting up their Halloween decorations.

Glory In The Highest (A Christmas Record) is set to release Oct. 14 and features songs that the twosome will perform during their special holiday tour beginning early December.

In addition to classic Christmas favorites like “Silent Night” and “O Holy Night,” the 11-track album also includes three original songs, including the title track and “Born To Die.”

“It really is the BEST time of the year,” said Shane Everett in a press release. “Shane and I are finally ready, after a decade of singing together, to take the Christmas carol plunge.”

Recorded at Shane & Shane’s own Spaceway Studios and produced by Jason Hoard (Fee), the album has a “jazzy country/gospel flare,” according to promoters, and also marks Shane Everett and Shane Barnard’s mix and engineering debut.

“We had a blast recording this project, and we hope our fans will enjoy it,” Everett exclaimed.

Shane & Shane will perform the songs from the new album when their special holiday tour kicks off Dec. 3. During the tour, the duo will visit 10 markets, including several dates in their native Texas.

Joining Shane & Shane for their tour will be special guests Phil Wickham and Bethany Dillon, who accompanied Shane & Shane in studio to record background vocals on the song “It’s Beginning To Look Like Christmas.” Dillon also happens to be the wife of Shane & Shane’s Shane Barnard. The two were married this past year, on Mar. 29, after being friends for about four years.
