Christian Site Claims Obama is Most Pro-Life Candidate

[-] Text [+]

A new Web site launched by a group of Christians claims that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, who has a 100 percent pro-choice Senate voting record, is the most pro-life candidate out of the two major presidential contenders.

Obama, the site www.prolifeproobama.com argues, proposes economic and health care plans as well as programs that would do more to reduce abortions in America than the policies supported by rival Republican candidate John McCain.

It even claims that Obama’s plans would reduce abortions more than reversing the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion across the nation would.

The site, created by the Mathew 25 network, pointed to a Catholics United study that found overturning Roe v. Wade would result in states deciding their own abortion law, which the study estimates would lead to at most only 16 states that would ban abortion.

“After 35 years, a new approach is needed,” writes Douglas W. Kmiec, the site’s spokesman. “Too many unborn lives are being lost as we wait for judges to get it right.

“Barack Obama's strengthening of support for prenatal care, health care, maternity leave, and adoption will make the difference," maintains the former professor and dean of the law school at The Catholic University of America.

But the site angered some pro-life leaders, who refuted the idea that Obama can be considered pro-life.

"The Matthew 25 Web page is a desperate attempt to attract pro-life Christian voters to Obama by misrepresenting and redefining the pro-life cause," charged Carrie Gordon Earll, senior bioethics analyst at Focus on the Family Action. "It's an insult and affront to every true pro-lifer in the country."

Earll pointed out that the Illinois senator has received a 100 percent pro-abortion rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America, while receiving a 0 rating from the National Right to Life Committee.

"The meaning of pro-life is to protect human life from the single-cell stage to natural death," she writes in a CitizenLink article. "That means opposing public policies that target and destroy innocent human life. From what I can see, not one word of this Web site addresses banning abortion, or even restricting it."

"If Obama wants to reduce abortion, he should support pro-life measures like parental involvement, informed consent and public-funding restrictions,” she added. “Obama's words and actions do not conform to being pro-life."

The Matthew 25 Network is a group of pastors and Christians who endorse Obama and seek to explain through their Web site why other Christian voters should also support the Illinois senator.

Some "Christians" says they are people of faith or religious. According to the Bible these are not true Christians. True Christian stand up for their Lord... His name, the Word of God.

"what is our definition of Christian anymore anyway? "

In college, we had a course called 'Western Man'. A main focus was on the similarities between our countries declining attitude in the 70's and pre-Nazi Germany.

The religious approach this person is using is the same which gave rise to the Nazi party by use of pasivity toward the crisis social issues. They didn't want to fight against the bully power of the Nazi so they tried to pacify them. It ended up in world war. Current events and the response of the media and much of the public show the same pattern with Obama.

Last year, presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., made a promise to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," he said.

The so-called Freedom of Choice Act could wipe away every state law limiting abortion, undoing decades of legal work, research and educational successes.

Obama has co-sponsored the legislation with 18 other senators. The bill has the support of 109 members of Congress.

"He (Obama) often stood alone as an Illinois lawmaker in opposition to protections for babies who survived abortion."

I don't think this site is promoting this group of Obama supporters. I believe it's pointing out the irony of this Christian group promoting Obama as "pro-life" as it mentions the opposing side.

this website is astounding! what is our definition of Christian anymore anyway? I don't feel like that title really means anything. At least not how it's thrown around. Hopefully people will see the deception in this site.

Reading some of the views out here makes me wonder who the Christian truly are.
This is not a govermental issue; The government is not having babies. Where are the parents of the people? The elders are suppose to set example for the younger generation. We keep looking to the government to solve our problems. God said He would provide for His people. There are 66 books in the Bible, isn't that enough. Unless you are saying God's word is not enough. The Bread of Life is not able to sustain and nourish you. We talk about abortion as though these women instantly got pregnant and now they want to end this alien in them. Well sorry folks, scientist have been suching for aliens and have yet to find one. The people are fornicating...yep sinning. And when oops I didn't want a child... I'll go have an abortion. Then all the "pro-lifers" say oooo. Its the government fault for allowing abortions. If the devil offers you money to give up your "Salvation" and you take it, its the governments fault you took it.

Obama said he would not want his daughters burden at an early age with a child.
When are we going to "Test the spirit by the spirit?"
    1 John 4
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Do we not believe there are any more false teacher in the world today? God says they are here.

“After 35 years, a new approach is needed,” writes Douglas W. Kmiec, the site’s spokesman. “Too many unborn lives are being lost as we wait for judges to get it right.
The Bible does not say the law of men will ever agree with God's word. God does speak to judges, king (president or leaders) and to the common man. God's word is for each individual alone to decide to obey Him or not obey. God's people are not suppose to need another source to force them to obey. We've been brought out of Hell (our Egypt) but we have yet make it to heaven (our Promised land). Christians and others have passed thru the waters of baptism now we are in our desert of testing.
7So, as the Holy Spirit says:
"Today, if you hear his voice,
    8do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion,
during the time of testing in the desert,
9where your fathers tested and tried me
and for forty years saw what I did.

McCain's claims are no different than this! His response to abortion is a common denominator of his party: life begins at conception. But, when asked what he would do as president, he says he would 'leave it up to the states.' That is not honesty.. that's a frivolous attempt to win over conservatives with the whole state issue.

This is an emergent organization people. They think keeping abortion legal is the best way reduce abortions. C'mon! At least they have cool glasses!

Obama pledge to sign the so-called "Freedom of Choice Act" as one of his first signatories. That would undo all prohibitions on abortions: from partial-birth abortion ban, parental consent requirements, to the Hyde Amendment.

Only the most utterly foolish and ignorant Christians would be able to fall for the lies of the evil one.

I did a search on Mr. Kmiec. Quite a conflicted fellow from his editorials he wrote for newspapers. He is a constitutional legal type who I think supports law from the bench.

If ever there was a perversion of truth, this is it. If Obama is pro-life, there are no cows in texas, And as someone said, " That's cattle country."

Well, if one can call Obama pro-life without laughing then the truth is a lie and a lie is the truth. His has to be one of the MOST corrupt campaigns in history. He's learned from the Chicago machine though, probably the most corrupt political city in America.
