One of the sad story is the death of our 15 year old sister Christine Turks from the shelling. That was devastating for her families and friend in Gaza
Thank you my friends, we went there for the Bethlehem Christmas service on the 20th and just got back.
We are praying for peace and so that Lord opens all our hearts and minds to stop all violence.
I just hope that the IDF can complete their job in the timeframe and delete Hamas for good

Marriage is a black and white, understood term. Domestic partnership is not. There is absolutely no reason to reinvent the wheel because it makes you uncomfortable or conflicts with your beliefs. Marriage gives everything: health care, hospital visitation, inheritance, and the list goes on for 1400 rights that a domestic partnership simply will not cover and would take YEARS to get to that place, if ever. Civil marriage is not a religious issue.
Remember that those who bless Israel shall be blessed, and those who curse Israel shall be cursed.
So how do we know?
For them who have ears to hear, let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the church.

The formation of a Jewish homeland should never have been allowed to occurr in the Middle East. Land was taken from the Arabs after the extermination of European Jewry by the Christians of Europe. Why should the Palestinians have to pay for the crimes committed upon the Jews by Europeans? A Jewish homeland should have been craved out of Europe where the crimes against Jewish humanity occurred. All we have now is endless bloodshed of both Jews and Palestinians. With the support of the US military-industrial complex, the formerly oppressed Jewish people have now become the oppressors.

They have bagged around 120 Hamas terrorist marked for interogation and have several more Hamasmen to be forcefully picked up at their homes or mosque hideaway.
And measures are already taken to destroy and mine the underground tunnel connecting Gaza's southern border at Rafah to the Egyptian Sinai dessert. Plus Israil needs to monitor the activities of the Moslem brotherhood in Cairo and Hezballah in Lebanon and Damascus
Considering that operation Cast Lead (distribute bullets) have gone for 2 weeks, its going well apart from a fatal friendly fire and the idiotic blast of the UN school for Palestinian children at Jebaliya murdering 48 childrens. This is truly a big error from IDF. Even when Hamas are hiding there and firing AKs and Metis, the paratroops just have to avoid it and not tasking their Merkava to return fire.
Hopefully the operation can be completed in the mentioned time frame as we shall enter into the ceasefire.
Hopefully there shall be no more children among the near 700 dead and 3000 injured Palestinians. And the 2500 Christians can restart their lives and business once again, after the extermination of Hamas.

No, because most of the Gaza civilians who have been tortured are our Palestinian brothers and sisters of the Orthodox church.

rollin, we homeschooled our son through the 8th grade and then he attended a public high school and went on to college, when he came home from college for Christmas break of his freshman year he thanked us for homeschooling him because high school did not prepare him at all for college and only those study habits and things he learned as a result of being homeschooled got him through his first semester.

War is a terrible thing. Hamas are using women and children as human shields to carry out their terrorist activities. To them children are collateral damage. Most of the TV news footage of the events are staged by the Hamas propaganda machine and the western media are falling all over themselves to paint Israel in a black light.

"There has been a war of terror on Sderot from more than eight years now. During this time period, an estimated 8,000-10,000 Palestinian rockets have been fired at Sderot and the western Negev from the Gaza Strip. There was not one serious long-term military response from Israel to the rocket attacks during that time besides the closing of crossings and checkpoints.
In the meantime, hundreds of Israelis homes and properties have been destroyed, over 700 Israelis wounded, and thousands psychologically traumatized by Palestinian rocket fire. Periodically, schools in Sderot and the western Negev have been forced to close, as normal life cruelly transforms into a marathon of 15 seconds, (the number of seconds one has to escape to shelter when the Tzeva Adom, or Red Color alert is set off by an impending Palestinian rocket).

The list of irreconcilable differences between what the Bible says and what the Roman Catholic Church says makes any joint mission between the two absolutely impossible. Those who deny this are not being true to what they say they believe, no matter which side they are on. It's funny, I live in an extremely liberal state and yet, our public schools are being closed down (one already another slated) to the increased number of parents either homeschooling or moving to private schools (not all are religious).

First, Paul does identify the church as Gods household; therefore it must comprise every true Christian, not only their leaders. Next, we are told to (examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith) 2 Corinthians 13:5 . . . this council is not only for individuals but for churches as well. For example, the seven churches in Revelation 2 & 3; we read that the church of Pergamos allowed the teaching of the Nicolaitanes . . . and the church of Thyatira allowed sexual immorality into their congregation . . . etc.
Anyone or any church can claim to have or be the pillar of truth . . . what did Jesus say about truth? He said, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17) and when Paul visited Ephesus, who did he commit the believers to? He said: (And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified) Acts 20:32.
Notice that he did not commit them to the magisterium or to the pope but to God and His Word. So, dependence upon the Word of God is seen as the basis for a church being the pillar of truth: Galatians 1:8-9 states: (But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

The New Testament does not teach that there are to be priests in the New Covenant. Instead, the New Testament teaches that all believers are priests. 1 Peter 2:5-9 describes believers as a (holy priesthood) and a (royal priesthood). Again, The New Testament teaches that there are to be elders (1 Timothy 3), deacons (1 Timothy 3), bishops (Titus 1:6-9), and pastors (Ephesians 4:11) but not priests.

You may want to re-read this verses in their context; start with verse 15 and proceed to verse 22. This council is for the entire church . . . it says: (if two of you); there is nothing here to suggest apostolic succession.
Hierarchy: (Eph 4:11 Church leaders are hierarchical)
Again, re-read this verse in its proper context: But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men (Ephesians 4:7, 8). These gifts were given for the edification of the church . . . these verses speak nothing of a universal bishop or apostolic successors.

With all due respect, Tallguy, but God did not leave His children to fumble around, but gave us Jesus as our Head and His Holy Spirit as our guide. Jesus also made clear His kingdom (the Church) was not earthly, but Spiritual. His church is not a building built on an actual rock/person, but He, Himself is our foundation. His church is His Body to which He adds His people.
Essentially, what I said was that we started homeschooling this year and haven't regretted it one bit.
The public education system is in disarray and all you have to do is look at California as a prime example. Go to http://www.exodusmandate.org and http://www.californiaexodus.org to find great information as to why there's a mass exodus from public education.
The NEA is all about liberal ideology. They blacklist anyone from conservative viewpoints. We left public education because of the sex education which is also filled with homosexual propaganda forcing its agenda on our children. Certainly, we need those that are called to be in public education to witness, but for the most part - GET OUT! I did a graduate degree in education through secular schools and I was appalled at what our educators are being forced to learn and spread.

he didnt leave us alone, he gave us a paraclete to show us all truth. jesus's specific mention indicates a different relationship, because truth now includes christ who has been give all authority, and judgement and lives in us. if christ lives in us why the need for a special leader.

No, your answer is "hey, here's a domestic partnership, now sit down and shut up." My answer is I deserve equal protection under the law, and a civil marriage is in no way a God sanctioned marriage.

Richard Dawkins is a hero and sadly ahead of his time.To say there is no god 100% would be unscientific and just as stupid as saying there is a god with 100% certainty.The burden of proof does not rest on Mr. Dawkins or any other thinking person but on all of you who belive.Mr.Dawkins can no more prove there isn't a Flying Spaghetti Monster somewhere than prove your god exist.Just because you and your parents say so isnt enough for some of us.

You mentioned the catechism you learned as a kid. I'll say it again, throw that one away, it was the Baltimore Catechism, more of a workbook. Get a copy of the Catechism today as written by the Vatican. It's an excellent read!
