INDIANAPOLIS – Planned Parenthood has suspended a counselor after an anti-abortion group released its second video in two weeks showing what it says is a clinic staffer ignoring Indiana law to report sexual abuse of minors.
Planned Parenthood said in a statement Tuesday that its first priority was to patients, but it was committed to following all state laws. It said it was investigating the matter and had not yet established whether the second video by Live Action had accurate content.
Planned Parenthood said the aide seen in the first Live Action video behaved unacceptably and was fired. It also said that staff members had been retrained on reporting abuse.
The college student who secretly shot both videos while posing as a 13-year-old clinic patient said they were edited mainly for time, such as removing her stay in the waiting room.
"Nothing was edited in a way that would alter the obvious context of the sexual abuse cover-up," said Lila Rose, a 20-year-old UCLA junior and Live Action member.
Rose shot both videos on June 24 at clinics in Indianapolis and Bloomington. She said Live Action has visited clinics in other states, but wouldn't say which ones.
Rose said the videos were released separately to increase news coverage.
"Each time we release a single clinic in a state we want it to get the national attention and scrutiny each cover-up deserves," Rose told The Associated Press.
The video released Tuesday shows a counselor at an Indianapolis clinic and Rose, posing as a 13-year-old who says the man who impregnated her was 31.
"I don't care how old he is," said the counselor, who identifies herself in the video only as Janet. Planned Parenthood has previously declined to identify employees accused of wrongdoing.
Indiana law requires anyone learning of sexual acts between an adult and a child under 14 to report them to police or child welfare authorities.
Both videos also appear to show Planned Parenthood staff advising the patient that other states allow minors to get abortions without parental consent, which Indiana requires.
Planned Parenthood operates 35 health clinics in Indiana, including three that offer abortions.

Prophet, you seem to be under the assumption that everyone who goes through abstinence only abstains from sex. Not telling kids how to protect themselves if they do choose to have sex (as many of them are going to) is irresponsible and unethical. Also, inclusive sex education certainly does teach abstinence as the only was to be completely safe and clean. You act as if they encourage kids to experiment with sex by teaching about condoms.
Ezekiel,
Amen. I came across that website not too long ago too. It was rather disturbing how and why PP was created, and that much of it's original intentions are still a part of their beliefs today.
No one can state the case against PP better than the words of the founder;
Margaret Sanger
Founder of Planned Parenthood
In Her Own Words

Plus tens of thousands more websites exposing the fallacies of "safe sex". As I pointed out...under the guise of "safe sex" birth rates and std's have gone up.
And there are still countless people who are taught "safe sex" methods, that do not adhere to the teachings...they still have unprotected sex even with the warnings. So they are no different than those who are taught abstinece, and refuse to follow the teachings.
But I like these numbers:
What's the safety record of those who practice abstinence? 100%.
What's the safety record of those who practice "safe sex"? Don't care. It's not 100%.
And to those people (youth included) who choose to ignore abstinence and practice unsafe sex (or even "safe sex") and end up pregnant? Live with your consequences! Be a man and woman and take responsibility.
And to those who ignore abstinence, and who have sex, and end up with an std? Don't say you weren't warned, and don't expect me to feel sorry for you. You want to act like a man or woman in having sex, then act like a man or woman when the consequences happen.
Each generation grows more and more immature and irresponsible. And that's the fault of the preceding generation.
Moreso than abstinence only, yes. If you google abstinence only sex ed, you will find horrifying facts such as that students taught in that manner are more likely to engage in sex later in their teen years, but often do so without using a condom and if they do get an STD, are much less likely to get tested or treated for fear of being "outed."
And it's apparent that "responsible sex and protection" is doing a bang up job. Teen pregnancies keep going up every year. Does that mean it's working?
They don't, but abstinence only education has been a miserable failure at stopping kids from having sex.
I'd like to know how people get STD's when they're not having sex.
I want to know when the criminal charges will hit for abstinence only education when studies have shown for a fact that it actually increases youth's chances of contracting an STD and experimenting with risky sexual behavior.
I'm sure a bunch of annoying 20 year olds are going to bring down "in a pro-life revolution" a multi-million dollar industry. I should film some of the stuff I have heard a priest at a former church of mine say... about Muslims, Jews, teen mothers, people who stay on welfare, and then invoke some annoying "churches should not pay taxes" stand.
You won't find the left taking the high ground on this. It's duck and cover whenever their protected groups do something wrong.
What I want to know is where are the chriminal charges?
Where's the outrage & concern for young girls who have been abused; not to mention criminally covered-up by Planned Parenthood, Mr. Obama?
Time to privatize Planned Parenthood!
No more public tax funding of PP. Period!
