Former Miss California to Release Tell-All Book

By Lawrence D. Jones|Christian Post Reporter

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean plans to come out with a tell-all book this fall after signing a deal with conservative publisher Regnery Publishing.

The book, tentatively titled “Still Standing,” is expected to hit bookshelves this November and will reveal “her side of the story,” which attracted national attention earlier this year.

Prejean had made headlines since the Miss USA pageant in April, when she famously said she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman in response to a question asked by celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton.

While many conservatives praised the then-21-year-old for responding honestly and boldly, many others demonized her, calling her anti-gay, a gay hater, or - as Hilton said - "a dumb b****.

“The unprecedented personal attacks that ensued eventually culminated in Prejean being stripped of her Miss California crown,” Regnery recalled in announcing plans for Prejean's book.

"But the 22-year-old won the respect of millions for modeling something other than evening gowns and swimsuits – the courage of standing up for her convictions," the publishing company added.

"Now she will tell her side of the story, answering such questions as what happened behind the scenes at the pageant, why she answered the Perez Hilton question as she did, what really led to her losing the Miss California crown, and how she has been forced to battle the left's double-standard on free speech and the bias against conservatives – particularly conservative women – who stand up for their beliefs."

After Prejean was stripped of her crown last month, the Miss California organization crowned the pageant’s first runner-up, Tami Farrell, who also said she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.

The next Miss California will be determined on Nov. 22 at a competition held in Palm Springs.

Sounds like the tolerant crowd on this posting, is not so tolerant anymore. Is anybody asking the question of why there was a gay judge at a womens beauty pageant? And Perez Hilton no less. This guy is a public pervert. He has posted much worse than semi-nude photos of himself on his own website. Guess why you did not see this in the MSM (mainstream media)?
Instead they go after a 20 year old beauty queen just for her views, which this pageant has NEVER done before. Why even call it a beauty pageant anymore? Why not a beautifully politically correct pageant?
And to philo777....get serious! Right wingers do not do this anymore than left wingers do. In fact, a case can be made that left wingers do it much more than right wingers. Just look at Al Gores movie, "An Inconvenient Truth". It was the lowest grossing movie (by far) that ever got a movie award. Take about stacking the deck!
Congradulations Carrie, mainstream America is with you!

    A "tell-all" book?

How much do you wanna bet that it will contain nothing about her posing for naughty photos?

In 40 years, mark my words, she will be SO embarassed over her remarks against same-sex marriage. She will have a lot of explaining to do to her grandchildren.

Oooooo...a 'TELL-ALL' book! I think you could fit about all there is to 'tell' on college-ruled 8 1/2 x 11...double spaced. Guess it makes sense...Prajean's 15 minutes of fame expired now so time to grab the teapot and whip up the second tempest in it. Yawn...

I don't see how you can compare Miss Prejean and Mr Warren, she looks far better in a swim suit.

Like Dr. Warren speaking up for Christ at the inauguration, Ms. Prejean should be lauded for standing up for marriage.

Of course, many Christians only want to focus on her supposedly racy photos (which she has apologized for) and ignore how she wants to work with disabled children.

Dr. Warren, too, has been excoriated because he wants to wrok with Muslims to combat poverty. He wants to show his faith by his works, as in the book of James, and instead finds grief with all the religious people on this website.

Instead of splitting hairs (like the helpful fellow who wrote I was going to Hell because I stood up for Charismatic Catholics-of coure, he reminded me he'd be praying for me) and reading "Why I Left the Contemporary Christian Music Movement" these people need to serve Christ by getting out the Gospel-and stop wastng time criticizing people like Dr. Warren and Ms. Prejean who are making a difference.

    Steve:

Yeah, it will, but first it will be on the NYT best seller list, 'cause what happens when a new conservative book hits the market is that all the right-wing organizations buy it in bulk to resell or give away. This "book" will be no different, if indeed it ever gets done. I can't imagine why anyone would want to read it, but I'm sure some will.
