Pro-Life Groups to Speak Out on New Videos Exposing Planned Parenthood

Pro-life groups are converging tonight via streaming video to discuss how they will use the Live Action videos of Planned Parenthood staff aiding in prostitution to end federal funding to abortion providers.

Since Pro-life activist Lila Rose's group, Live Action, released video of a New Jersey Planned Parenthood manager giving advice to a man posing as a pimp, conservative groups have been rallying supporters in a renewed effort to stop federal tax dollars from going to Planned Parenthood.

"The public pressuring is building, not just in Washington [D.C.] but other states, to say enough is enough," said J. P. Duffy, vice president of communications for the Family Research Council.

FRC and other pro-life groups such as Susan B. Anthony List, Priests for Life and 40 Days for Life are converging on the Expose Planned Parenthood website to respond to the "shocking" nature of the videos and encourage increased momentum behind the abortion funding bills currently before the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.

The Live Action video of Planned Parenthood Central New Jersey clinic shows a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute filling out forms to be tested for sexually transmitted illnesses.

While the video is shaky at times, the audio is very clear. In the video released Tuesday, listeners can clearly hear PPCNJ Manager Amy Woodruff giving the pair advice on how to fill out the forms so as to hide the fact they are sex workers.

"We want to make it as legit as possible," Woodruff said at one point.

She also advised the "pimp" to fudge the age of his underage prostitutes. "If they're underage, just tell them to put down that they are students," confided Woodruff.

Sex trafficking is a federal crime. Aiding, abetting and/or counseling a federal crime to be committed is considered just as heinous as committing the crime itself. Both crimes are punishable by imprisonment for over 10 years or more.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards denounced the videos, saying they were edited to appear damning. PPFA has requested an FBI probe into the incident. Richards also contacted Attorney General Eric Holder last week asking for an FBI investigation.

Live Action has since released an unedited video of the undercover effort on YouTube. PPCNJ fired Woodruff Tuesday night.

Tom McClusky, vice president of FRC government affairs, described their action as a "cover."

He stated that FRC along with Concerned Women of America and SBA List will be pushing for Congress to hold hearings. As a recipient of federal tax dollars, PPFA must be held accountable, McClusky asserted. Congress must exercise its oversight abilities and investigate PPFA's business practices, he said.

"Congress needs to get involved or there's going to be more cover ups," he said.

Tonight, several conservative groups and activists Rose, Dr. Alveda King and Abby Johnson will rally together for an 8 p.m. video promoting action for the Title X, Health Care repeal and "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion" bills.

Rose will also release a second undercover video filmed in a Richmond, Va., Planned Parenthood clinic.
