This is hardly new news! The PCUSA has been steadily losing members for about 4 decades, as if it had a severed jugular! I was one of them in the late 1990's, after having been involved with denominational renewal for several years. This loss has historicallly included whole congregations. I worked for one in the 1990's that left to join the EPC in the 1980's. Those remaining in the denomination have become increasingly liberal in each successive year, due to the ongoing exodus of conservatives. This is confirmed by less than half of their congregations being reported as maintaining numbers or showing growth. Their eyes don't see and their ears don't hear . . . how sad!!!
