thatguycj: I am extremely pleased that you do not deny the lives of exgays as so many gay activists feel compelled to do for political reasons I can only assume.

Your inclusion of the extra Romans is certainly on target and a good reminder. I would also add that discernment is not the same as judging. Judging an adulterer or pornographer is not the same as stating the fact that it is adultery or pornography and is proscribed by His word.

Only God has the answer for your situation. Both the OT and NT proscribe homosexual behavior along with many other sexual sins. That of course does not mean people don't do it anyway but that is very different than getting into the trap of twisting His word to fit our circumstances.

Jesus said us that God never calls us to anything that is against His own word.

The Bible tells us that "what is in the heart will come out of the mouth." Some people who profess to be Christian can say some very hurtful things, Maybe revealing their own need to get right with God.

On the issue of homosexuality, The Word of God is very clear, It is a sin. We can't change that no matter how hard some try. And every Christian has a duty as a child of God to declare the truth on this matter.

But at the same time it must be done in Love. God hates sin but he Loves the sinner, And if that sinner does not repent and turn from that sin to God they will be judged by God for that sin.

But there are some who claim to be Christian who would give the impression that God hates the sinner. If that were the case who would be saved.? Not you, and not me.

Please, while you declare the truth of Gods Word, Don't forget to declare it in the Love of Christ. As Christians we are to" judge" the actions and lifestyles of the world, and of those who claim to be Christian. I do have a right to judge the words and statements people make.

I do have the right to judge what is being preached today as the word of God. I do have the right to judge the homosexual lifestyle. To say that we are not to make any judgements at all is not correct.

May God help us all to be more like Jesus, There is room for much improvement in my life, And I suspect in yours too. Art.

thatguycj, I hope you don't judge all Christians based on the words of a few outspoken ones who may not well-represent the faith.

Personally, for me, when it comes to matters of disagreement - whether over salvation through Christ, homosexuality, evolution, or whatever - I keep in mind 1 Peter 3:15, which states:

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect ..."

But to be honest, we don't always say things in the right way - whether they be the right things or not and wheter we have the right intention or not. That's a human flaw, not just a Christian flaw. When Christians speak maliciously, they do so not as Christians but as the sinful beings that we are. And to be honest, even I cringe at the words spoken by some who claim to be believers. I hope before all the other laws and commands in the Bible, all fellow believers can put the greatest commandments above all - Matthew 22:38-40.

And you people wonder why homosexuals don't like Christians...if all I read was hatred like this towards me I wouldn't much care for Christians either.

I've been through the ex-gay ministry and even though I tried hard and really believed God would be faithful, my orientation stayed very much the same. Through months of pain, confusion and seeking I learned a good bit of what the Bible truly says of homosexuality (which isn't much), how people during the time that it was written viewed sex and relationships, and also how our own Western mindset has really formed an intollerant belief towards something, that may not be the intention, is still very much here and real and I truly believe can be lived out righteously and life giving towards the kingdom.

I still know many in the exgay ministries who have successfully changed their orientation and are happy, I don't deny that they are real experiences and I am not against their views, but I know that's not my way or my calling.

I'm not here to debate any of that, or to debate views of the Bible. It's very useless at this point in the "war." I'm here to tell you that what I strive for, what we all should strive for to love God and to love others with everything we have...not because they're something to "get saved," but because they are loved by God. So I hope we as Christians can one day put down our megaphones of hatred and dogmatic hypocracies and come together and usher in this Kingdom, releasing the hell that people that don't know Jesus are living in day in and day out...

Unfortunately the best part of the Romans 1 chapter was cut off by a "2" in which the second chapter really finishes the subject of the first by Paul stating: "1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?"

Like I said before, "Fire them...Fire them all! The parents ought join forces and number the school board members who are for this new Pro-Gay Sex-Ed Curriculum get them voted out strategically. Activly campaign for pro-family school board candidates. And replace them with proven and known advocates of the family. We need to network together and share our vision for the family to our children so that the next generation will understand why the family structure must be preserved. We are literally fighting for the survival of our future as a nation. Our children are worth fighting for. All christians must realize that we are in the middle of a cultural war. Socialism and the forced indoctrination of secular humanism has invaded our public schools and is being pushed on our children. I for one am not going to stand idlly by and watch another generation become trained to be prey for academic pedofiles."

Homosexuality is a demonic lifestyle that destroys the family, manhood, womanhood, and childhood in order to mock at God's divine order and destroy the future generations of humanity. The glorious history of the homosexual has left nations less populated, sicker, and emotionally and financially drained. Even the vast majority of their leaders per capita have fought hard the preserve the STD curse on the earth, while taking pleasure in destroying the minds of children with despicable acts of lewdness and molestation.

HampsteadPete: What you want to do in your bedroom is fine. If your bedroom isn't big enough, find somewhere else to promote it other than public schools. If you want to redefine morals as only subject to the mind of man and without transcendental truth, go live where the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Pol Pot, Franco, Mussolini, Kim Jong il, and Muammer al-Qaddaffi define morals for the country. See how they debate homosexuality.

I really think at this rate, ex-gays are going to be the next biggest victims of society. And actually it seems like a lot of homosexuals are more malicious and intolerant when it comes to ex-gays than how straight people used to be before when it came to homosexuals.

Christians are getting treated pretty harshly these days as well.

Ever notice that people who shriek at another group for being like the KKK are usually acting in the same intolerant way that the KKK does? If the teachers' ideas won't stand up to a simple spoken challenge, they can't be very good ideas.

As a Christian, I t is important to remember that while God hates sin,He loves the sinner. if what is being done is not being done out of love for people then God is not pleased with us.

Having said that, Romans 1:26-27 declares, " For this cause God gave them up to vile affections, For even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature, And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman burned in their lust one toward another, Men with Men working that which is unseemly.

Please understand,I am not against gay people, But I must be against the act of homosexuality. God says it is sin. Thank God there is forgivness for every gay man and woman who will repent and turn from that sin, just like there is forgivness for every straight man and woman if we will repent.

What's truly "out of control" is the "craziness" of trying to convince the gay population there is "something terribly wrong with them" that only you can fix. Sooner or later, like our vice-perpetrator, you will have to except reality for what it is. This is a perfect example of what happens when you try to base your morals and ethics on a document written by a bunch of iron-age nomads.

Morals and ethics should be about the alleviation of human suffering and how we treat one another, not about differences in human sexuality. Ask yourself this: How does it pick your pocket or break your leg how others relate to one another?
