I wouldn't mind if it was a two way street, but Christianity doesn't get the same protection. [I]n Pennsylvania, 11 Christians were prosecuted under the states hate crime law for preaching on a street corner against homosexuality, Anybody remember when Sinead O'Connor tore up a picture of the Pope on TV? What's more a sign of hate then that? What about burning the flag?
When governments are omniscient, when the justice system is infallible, let's try hate crime legislation.
And when will governments be omniscient, the justice system infallible????
Never.
"Senator" Kennedy, an alleged representative of the people(?) should be chastised, denounced and publicly scorned and abandoned by clear thinking citizens of this country for this political ploy and gamesmanship. This is not about terrorism, but his own agenda. He is in bed with the Human Rights Campaign and is doing their bidding, but first and foremost he is doing the bidding of the Devil and he needs the prayers of the faithful, that God would save his soul and he'd come to the Cross of Christ for forgiveness. Next and foremost, he should be removed from office for his blatant anti-Christian stance, as he is no friend of most traditional voters and the public at large!!!
If Ted Kennedy is tied to it, my antennae automatically go up.His face should be next to liberal in the dictionary.I apologize if that sounds insensitive. But isn't enough enough? Isn't it enough to try someone for the crime he/she has committed without trying to get into the "psyche" of the criminal? It is scary!!
Yes, this criticism is correct. I agree with what is said. BUT, in the real world of "justice" in the U.S. it is not blind justice. Typically, the severity of the penalty is based more on the "race" of the victim, even in the most henious crimes. Yes, I will agree with the article, BUT, what are the suggestions for resolving of blind justice in our current system?
