I say this as tactfully, and as lovingly as I can to all who side with Rick Warren in this ecumenical drive to unite the worlds religeons. Be warned, for this is what the Bible says: God is gracious and merciful, and will forgive those who turn to Him thru Jesus Christ with a repentant heart, and choose to fllow Him. However, He is the Righteous God, and He will judge those who deliberately turned their backs on Him and His Son - Jesus Christ because of their obstinate rebellion and continual rejection of His Son. Read the Bible in context, and then comment on it. We cannot, and should not have felowship with those who claim to be Christians yet don't obey His Word, and HIs Salvation Message. The post modern liberal Emergent church, and it's seeker sensitive counterparts want people to believe that if we all save the environment, and save the whales, the events of the Book of Revelation will not happen, and we can actually prevent it from happening. This similar social gospel which claims that we should make the world a better place, and usher in peace prior to Jesus' second coming, as well as unite with all people of faiths has been adopted by Rick Warren, and has caused whole splits in the Southern Baptist Convention, because he has gone down the Purpose Driven P.E.A.C.E Plan agenda, which by the way is a false doctrine my friends. These movements which align themselves with Bono from U2 and the whole COEXIST crowd have more in common with humanism, one world religeon, and the new age than what the Bible says will transpire. The problem today is that we have so many "Bible teachers" who are more motivational speakers than true shepherd's of the flock of God. No wonder the Body of Christ is split. The Bible talks of a great falling away in the end times. Men will naturally gravitate towards what their "itching ears" want to hear. What more itching do you need than what you hear on TBN, and the like: "find success", "you are the controller of your own destiny" "God will prosper you if you just have faith [and send me your money]". They take Scripture out of context to suit their own desires, and fleece the flock of God for their own matierial gain. OPEN YOUR EYES and STUDY the WORD IN CONTEXT; for Christ will return soon.

KoneWone2, as well as anyone on the thread who loves sound doctrinal teaching, I think you would be extremely interested with the commentaries concerning the Emergent Church Deception, the Word Faith/Positive Confession and Seed Faith Movement aka Name it and claim it, and blab it and grab it, as well as the Seeker Sensitive "Purpose Driven" Mega Churches, here are several web addresses you may want to research on, - http://www.understandthetimes.org/, http://www.lighthousetrails.com/, http://www.apprising.org/

God bless you jc4me, keep on pressing on.

I HAVE LEARNED....

The following quote contains "principles for Christian living"
that are taken mostly from the 'wisdom' literature of the bible-
Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

It is impossible for one to live right, or to have wholesome
relationships, without following Scriptural principles.

I'VE LEARNED that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved...
The rest is up to them.

I'VE LEARNED that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.

I'VE LEARNED that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I'VE LEARNED that just because someone doesn't love you
the way you want to, doesn't mean they don't love you
with all they have.

I'VE LEARNED that there are people who love you dearly,
but just don't know how to show it.

I'VE LEARNED that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.

I'VE LEARNED that maturity has more to do with what types
of experiences you've had, and what you've learned from them,
and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I'VE LEARNED that no matter how bad your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I'VE LEARNED that our background and circumstances may
have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for
who we become.

I'VE LEARNED That just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I'VE LEARNED That two people can look at the exact
same thing and see something totally different.

I'VE LEARNED That no matter the consequences,
those who are honest with themselves get farther in life.

I'VE LEARNED That even when you think you have no more
to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength
to help.

I'VE LEARNED That credentials on the wall do not make you
a decent human being.

I'VE LEARNED That it's hard to determine where to draw the
line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings,
and standing up for what you believe.

I'VE LEARNED That it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.

I'VE LEARNED That sometimes when I'm angry I have the
right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I'VE LEARNED That either you control your attitude,
or it controls you.

I'VE LEARNED That it's not WHAT you have in your life
but WHO you have in your life that counts.

I'VE LEARNED That you can get by on charm for about
fifteen minutes. After that, you had better know something.

I'VE LEARNED That it's taking me a long time to become
the person I want to be.

I'VE LEARNED That you can keep going long after
you think you can't.

I'VE LEARNED That learning to forgive takes practice.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Excerpt taken from a commentary by Roger Oakland named The Inclusive Gospel from www.understandthetimes.org

".............The new evangelization program being promoted by the emerging church, while it may be in the name of Christ, is antichrist. A formula has been established to provide a bridge that has the potential to unite all religious beliefs in the name of Christ, by circumventing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the future we will see all faiths join together based on a common mystical experience accompanied by “lying signs and wonders”. The apostasy the Bible warned would be apparent in the Last Days is now fully underway. Only those who hold firm to God’s Word will be protected and delivered. This remnant of faithful believers will be viewed as old-fashioned narrow-minded holdouts who are a hindrance to the establishment of the “kingdom.” As Paul wrote to Timothy, in the Last Days:

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. [15]"

KoneWone: keep standing up for the Gospel of Truth. I have read several threads including the ones you posted on the Joel Osteen matter, and I'm glad you're writing on this blog. Hopefully the Lord will open the eyes of some of the people on this thread that are clueless of the deception in the church. I've noticed some people are being deceived by the Emergent Church and/orLiberal Theology, as well as the social gospel of Rick Warren and the likes of Brian McClaren that water down Scripture, and want people to feel good. What the Church needs to do is start teaching the Word expositorily, and encourage people to read the Word for themselves so true growth can take place in the Body of Christ, and not this psychobable prosperity, feel-good motivational new-age false doctrine.

Rick Warren has redefined Christianity and is pushing ahead, world wide, with his Purpose Driven program, which is not the full-orbed biblical gospel. His teachings have infiltrated the church all around the globe and now there is deception on a massive scale. Only God can open the eyes of the blind. Rick Warren has also redefined biblical repentance to basically mean; "change the way you think, change your mind" in much the same manner as Norman Vincent Peale and Robert Schuller's power of positive thinking, possibility thinking, positive confession teachings. Even though the Greek meaning of the word "repentance" is "change of mind," biblical repentance is much much more than a change of mind. Biblical repentance goes back to the Hebrew meaning of the word not the Greek meaning.

Repentance and the Universal Call of the Gospel

http://www.christianworldviewnetwork.com/article.php/1261/Bob_DeWaay

"The meaning of repentance in the New Testament is not determined simply by its etymology, “change of mind,” but by its Biblical usage. Repentance is linked to the concept of conversion and means to “turn away from one’s former ways and turn to God.” The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament contains a lengthy entry on the Greek words for “repent” and “repentance.” Their conclusion, based on the Hebrew (not Greek) background of the New Testament is that the terms have to do with religious conversion: “Investigation of the history of the term up to New Testament days has shown us, however, the only path which may be followed, and exposition of the theological usage of the New Testament will pursue this to its destination, namely, that ìåôáíïÝù and ìåôÜíïéá are the forms in which the New Testament gives new expression to the ancient concept of religious and moral conversion.”

At first glance, Rick Warren's intentions seem admirable. But if you compare them with scripture you can see they are very harmful. First off, Paul says in Galatians 1:10 that if he were trying to please men he should not be the servant of Christ. Basically he's speaking about preaching a watered down Gospel. Secondly, Rick is known to seek help outside the body of Christ to accomplish goals. Again, 1st Corinthians makes it very clear that no flesh should glory in the presence of God. That is something guys like Warren and Hybels completely neglect when they invite worldly people into their Churches and allow them to speak. The kind of Christianity Warren promotes has caused a lot of strife in my household. Warren says it's because Christians like me are not willing to think outside the box or change. I have done that quite a few times, it's called backsliding. That "box" is not a box of legalistic rules, it's a hedge of protection. It's holiness. Why would I want to think beyond that?

Could Rick Warren be seeking the position of anti-christ as he attempts to subsitute the gospel message with humanism and rejects the message of the cross, not wanting to offend those how want to live a lifestyle of rebellion against God? He is the protege of Robert Schuller, a 33 degree mason. It doesn't surprise me that he wants to fulfill the masonic agenda for a One World Religion.

Proof that the Masons are a Satanic Cult from their own writings

I do believe Rick Warren will be successful in his endeavor because God is using him to see who
still loves truth.
Those who are not in the Word will be duped and help RW with bringing in the support of the apostate church for the Anti Christ.

Those who still know what the Gospel is and are being faithful, will see the deception for what it is. We will suffer for being "opposer's". The Lord has already promised we will overcome any system not built by Him.
We overcome by the blood of Jesus and the Testimony of Jesus.
Not by methods. RIck can build his methodically built system, but it will be torn down by the Lord. Because Rick is the real opposer. The opposer of the TRUE GOSPEL.

Read John 3:16 - God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. You too can have a relationship with the God who loves you. Call on Him and He will answer you. Seek and you will find; then find a church where they are not afraid/ashamed of the true Gospel of Good News of Christ, and grow in the Word, and then tell others about the true life changing message of Christ, and what He did for you..

The Post modern Emergent/Seeker Friendly/COEXIST movement as well as well know Rick Warren, and his Global P.E.A.C.E Plan are behind the scenes with apostate Rome trying to provide people with a touchy-feely psychobable. They deny the Lordship of Christ, while pretending to bring peace on earth. Apart from the Jesus Christ of the Bible, you cannot have true, lasting peace. Humanism, along with the other New Age ism's will never coexist with Biblical Christianity. They compromise the faith by creating the impression that "all roads lead to God". This is a false doctrine, and Christ, as well as the apostles warned us this would come. What the world needs is to repent, turn to God, ask Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and then deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Him. If the Roman Catholic Church was not a compromising church, then why do they allow such heresy as Marianity (the worship and deification of Mary as co-redemptrix with Christ)? Why is their focus on the mystic feeling and the experiential, without solid Biblical Truth to back it up? One should study Roman Catholic Church History and see that most monks were mystics. Why do they forbid their priests to marry? Why don't they teach the Word of God Line by Line Precept upon Precept as the Book of the Prophet Isaiah teaches in the Old Testament (Old Covenant)? Why is the Vatican trying to create a bridge to "mother Rome" to "unite" their lost Protestant brethren, and while their at it promoting Eucharistic christ which is not the Christ of the Bible, but a false christ. They are trying to unite all the world's religeions (Islam in this instance) as if all have common ground with the true God of the Bible?? Do not be deceived. Read the Holy Scriptures - God's infallible Truth, and discover these apostacies for yourselves. I am not saying there are no born again catholics, but they are few and far between the ones that are being taught these false doctrines, and taught to follow after man's traditions rather than the Truth of the Word of God. They are folowing this lie of the Devil hook line and sinker this ecumenical movement is trying to unite us all, even those who don't share Christ as the Only Way to the Father God. People, do not be deceived. Open your eyes, and your ears. the time is short, and Christ will rapture His church prior to God's wrath being poured out on the enemy's of the cross. Repent, and turn from your sins, give your Life to the Christ of the Bible, and then you will find true peace, true freedom, and true change.

leaners -
I've never understood why seeker sensitive churches need to make up words like "Christ-followers" instead of the word Christian, or the rest of the cutesy names and acronyms that they seem to need for everything.

No one is against the "Great Commandment" (I'm assuming you mean to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind since that is the greatest commandment) or the Great Commission, but how can you be following the directions of our Lord when you are taking His word and gutting it to make it more palatable for those who find the actual gospel unattractive (the real foundation of Seeker Sensitive)

sO....Rick Warren wants to make the world more a disciple of Rick Warren's than Jesus Christ? I guess he does. As "gig" has said, his ideas are his own, and they many of them are based in the business community. We need to stand firm against the move of Warren and his deception called PEACE!! It's just another ploy to follow along with the United Nations plan for a one world government. Rick Warren....REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND!!!

rick warren is a businessman, first. his ideas are his own, not of God's, and those who choose to follow him because it's fun, easy, and acceptable by most of the world will pay a heavy price when they stand before God.
