Thousands of students around the world are fasting from a luxury food item Wednesday and donating the money they would have spent on the item to an anti-genocide network that will use the funds to help protect Darfurian women from rape.
I do hope the money being sent there actually gets to where it's most needed and is not robbed by warlords. This country is indeed in desperate need of prayer and fasting.

The Lord Jesus taught that only fasting and prayer can chase away some evil spirits. The one that's controlling Darfur must be a very strong demon, possibly a prince, and the only way to defeat it is through the fasting and prayers of Christians.
It's just so thrilling to see young Christians from around the world take up the gauntlet in defence of Darfur. I have no doubt in my mind that we will soon see the captives set free in that country. Wish I could see the battles in the spiritual realm between the demons and the heavenly hosts! Saints, we must pray earnestly asking God to save and heal Darfur.

I'm so glad to be finally seeing some inroads here. But where have we been for 20 yrs while Sudanese Christians have been raped, mutilated (mostly the women and little girls), enslaved, crucified...? The list of atrocities goes on and on.

Fasting is indeed very powerful. Especially when dealing with a evil spiritual entity as big as the one in control of that country. It must be a powerful spirit, so the battle must be even more powerful.

Darfur is striking in its extreme spiritual blindness. Fasting is maybe the most powerful means to identify in some small way with the plight of these women and move the hand of God on their behalf.
