kpercy07 "and pinning 9/11 as the fallout for our foreign policy of the 70's is unsophisticated and mean"

Actually the problems started much sooner than that. Study up on the history of the ME, starting with the conquering, partitioning and control at the end of WW I by Europe and USA. Take an objective look at the ME and America's influence there for the past 90 years and you will learn why 9-11 occured.

feetxxxl, I thought I would take the liberty to repost your message. Its a side of America that the average American does not want to see or admit to. I have been saying much the same stuff for years now. America has done some good stuff around the world, but is also guilty of serious crimes against humanity to protect its strategic and business interests, its most recent mistake- the invasion and destruction of Iraq and its people. Too bad US didn't learn from Vietnam.

"U.S.A. HAS HISTORY OF USING OTHER COUNTRIES FOR THEIR OWN INTERESTS AT TREMENDOUS PERIL TO THAT COUNTRY. THE ONLY REASON WE ARE IN IRAQ IS BECAUSE IT IS SITTING OVER OUR OIL.

WE WENT INTO AFGANISTAN. BOMBED IT OUT, THENM ABANDONED IT IN THE MIDST POVERTY AND INTERNAL UPHEAVAL FOR THE RICHES OF IRAQ.

THERE'S KISSINGERS COERSIVE INVOLVEMENT IN OVERTHROWING GOVTS IN SOUTH AMERICA.

BRINGING VIOLENCE AND KILLING AND UPHEAVAL TO OTHER COUNTIES FOR SUPPLYING DRUGS TO THIS COUNTRY'S POPULATION'S UNQUENCHABLE DEMAND.

GOING INTO NICERAGUA, USING THE SAME DEMAND TO SELL DRUGS TO SUPPLY GUNS TO FOMENT A CIVIL WAR CAUSING INTERNAL UPHEAVAL.

WE HAVE BEEN GIVING BILLIONS OF MILITARY SUPPLIES TO EVERY DESPOT IN THE MIDEAST WHO WOULD SUPPORT OUR INTERESTS..................THE SHAH OF IRAN,

DOES ANY ONE REMEMBER VIETNAM AMD MARTIN LUTHER KING"S SPEECH AGAINST THAT WAR AND OUR COUNTRY'S INTERNATTIONAL POILICIES.........................................IN ESSENCE WRIGHT WAS JUST REPEATING KING.

"For nine years following 1945 we denied the people of Vietnam the right of independence. For nine years we vigorously supported the French in their abortive effort to recolonize Vietnam. Before the end of the war we were meeting eighty percent of the French war costs. Even before the French were defeated at Dien Bien Phu, they began to despair of their reckless action, but we did not. We encouraged them with our huge financial and military supplies to continue the war even after they had lost the will. Soon we would be paying almost the full costs of this tragic attempt at recolonization. "

Obama, a member of the church since the early 1990s, said he would have quit Trinity had such statements been "the repeated tenor of the church. ... I wouldn't feel comfortable there."

I have heard that this was precisely why Oprah left that church.

TerryH - You're right about the congregants and choir, they all look in total agreement and to be enjoying everything he's saying and doing.

You have to wonder why Obama hasn't come out with any video of this pastor when he is preaching the true gospel from the scriptures, without screaming like a lunatic, without vulgar sexual gestures, without racist remarks, without anti-American rhetoric, without politics but in actual worship of God. Could it be because no such video exists?

wrhalver, you are wrong. Jesus spoke against the Pharisees who were the priest. They were corrupting their followers. Beware the leaven of the Pharisees.
Paul also talks about leaven or false teaching. A little leaven leavens the whole batch.

Hey RBB - I totally agree with you on this thing that Obama has been part of this mans teachings for a long time. The other thing I found shocking is that this is not just one issue and you can see it when this video is playing. Look at the people behind him. The choir foljks laughing at what this man is saying. This tells me that this is not just his opinion but anyone who woulkd laugh at this shows a sign of agreement. I mean since when do we find sinful behavior funny?

what greater church you want a president to have been attending?

in addition to idol worship was not isreal (judah)exiled for its harboring injustices?

    2) This is not "one, single, televised incident." Rev. Wright's incendiary, racially-charged rhetoric has been floating around the Internet for a long time. Just check out his website: http://www.tucc.org/about.htm
    3) Your Marxist views are decidedly on the wrong side of history. The Cold War is over, and pinning 9/11 as the fallout for our foreign policy of the 70's is unsophisticated and mean. As a Latin who lived some of that stuff, I weary of the simplistic interpretations of that era.

what he said was true. but even if it wasnt. is our fellowship in christ dependent on having similar political views. so you are saying you dont attend a church of christ but instead attend a church of christ that has a particular political view. where is the unity in christ in that?

I agree with you RBB. He HAS known this pastor and what he beleives for at least 20 years. If I don't agree with someone over alot of issues, I don't hang around them, and certainly not subject my family to their poison. I wonder why Obama didn't denounce this pastor when he gave him a big financial donation for his presidential campain. I've been praying that God will uncover the truth about our future presidental candidates. Thank you God for bring to light what is the REAL truth!

Our sins will find us out.

Jesus did not teach his disciples to speak out against Ceasar and the Roman Empire. Jesus himself spoke out only against the religious leaders of the Jews for misleading the people.

Jesus taught his disciples to have renewed hearts and that they should be the examples to the non-believers in Israel and the Gentile world.

Obama has been a member of that church for 20 years; the guy's his mentor (to the point where his book "Audacity of Hope" is a quote from one of his sermons), he works on Obama's campaign, he married them, he baptized his kids.

As a Christian I know what my pastor believes, I make it my business. It's part of being a Christian. If you belong to a church, it's the first thing you find out. All we keep hearing from this campaign is one silly excuse after another. The bottom line......... This is the kind of person you want running this country? The kind of judgment you hope your president will have? The kind of "pastor" you want the President getting spiritual guidance from? No thank you!

On another note......... those who hate this country, please let me direct you to the border, it goes both ways, don't let the screen door hit you on the way out.

Look at Obamas deception! He would Do or say anything to win the election.I hope more truth gets no matter how hard the liberal media tries to keep it under cover. I wonder if his past/ pastor is ok with abortion too. Obama is a strong advocate of abortion and partial birthabortion., but that issue is supose to be kept quiet. The true Obama is being revieled before the election and his hidden hatered for America is showing. I urge Christians to unite and vote McCain in Americas Christian Heritage will be gone with the sweeping of Obamas pen.

My point exactly. George Bush did not say that. He may have had a lot of reasons for going into Iraq that you may not agree with, but that was not one of them. Others have made that statement after the invasion, but not Bush. Your facts are not facts at all. Again I say, real news not radical web sites. You are wandering off of the issue of this story though. The story is about Obama and his pastor. I think that we get the point that you agree with them. That is your right. I was just curious. I guess I was getting off subject too. Shall we get back to the issue.

when george bush stated that it was important to be in iraq so that we could draw terrorists into iraq , and therefore would be fighting them on iraqi and avoiding the necessity of fighting them on our own soil. there wasnt a scintilla of moral outrage against the idea about making iraq a wartorn country for the sake of our interests.

feetxxl -- Why don't you tell us how you really feel? Do you live in the U.S? If so, WHY? If I hated a country as much as you hate this one, I would leave. I'm not being sarcastic here, I really do not understand the hatred of America by Americans. I work with many immigrants (legal) who love this country, but people who were born here hate it. What gives? Most of the things in your last 3 post are half-truths or less. I've lived through most of these things and you've been lied to. This country is not perfect, but it's not nearly as bad as you see it. Instead of reading radical web siites, try going back and reading the newspapers when these things were happening. They aren't always objective, but they're better than what you're reading now.

"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost."

    WRIGHT IS RIGHT,

RIGHT NOW WE ARE FIGHTING WAR IN A COUNTRY THE MAJORITY AGREES WE SHOULD HAVE NEVER GONE INTO. ONE OF THE REASONS WAS TO USE IRAQ AS A BUFFER ZONE FOR FIGHING AMERICAS ENEMIES ON SOMEONE ELSE'S SOIL THAN OUR OWN.

    I agree.

Also, when Anderson Cooper last night asked Obama iif he would sing God Bless America, he never said, "Yes". He only joked, "I wouldn't sing it here because people would question my singing ability (or something to that effect)." When I watched that interview, I had a hard time believing he didn't know his pastors feelings on these volatile issues. He has a right to follow the pastor of his choice. But he has to endure the consequences of the relationship.

    Stay tuned.

So now Obama wants us to belief that he had no idea that his pastor of 20 years, a man who until yesterday was one of his political advisors was a racist who hates America. This doesn't speak well of his judgement, or his honesty. It does say that he thinks that we are idiots.

Obama seemed like a nice guy when he started this race. I never liked his policies, but he seemed like a decent person. It didn't take me 20 years to see that he isn't.

HempsteadPete -- What is it about judges who believe that the constitution should be the basis of judical decisions that you don't like? None of our rights would be in jeopardy if all Supreme Court justices had felt that way throughout our history.

Too late Obama... we see that you were attracted to what this man spewed from the pulpit. You can't have a spiritual adivisor and then say that you deject what that person is saying... this man, who I will not call a pastor, is much closer than just a speaker... and the influence on Obama and his wife is deeper that appears.

Hey HampsteadPete, with a Democratic in office, you would lose more rights... say the right to homeschool your children, parent your children... you'd pay a lot more in taxes (think of it as redistribution of wealth), and health care quality would drop (especially as you wait 3 years for a required surgery).

"Obama is a cutie, but I'm with kpercy here. These are HUGE red flags!"

They may indeed be red flags to you, and I can understand why they are. What's it matter, though, 'cause you most likely would not have voted for him anyway.

This election is about one issue, as far as I'm concerned, and that's federal judges at all levels. McCain has promised to nominate Scalia clones for the federal bench, and that's just unacceptable to many of us. Most of Clinton's appointments never made it, and Bush has had seven years to appoint whoever he felt like. The tide must be turned, or there will be rioting in the streets. We are as close to a theocracy as we have ever been, and one more jerk like Scalia on the court will turn our republic into one, to all our detriments.

It doesn't matter who the Dems nominate, as anybody could do a better job then the moron we have had for the last seven years. Perhaps with a Democrat in office, we might get some of our rights back and restore some of our standing in the world so damaged by this administration.

These "revelations" concerning OBama are just as meaningless as those about Bush and his "service" in Vietnam.
