Evangelical leaders have been heavily courted by presidential candidates for endorsements, but a new survey revealed how evangelical churches themselves avoid advising congregants who to vote for.

It would be more interesting to know whether churches advise their members on which issues are Biblical and which are counter to the Bible's message. Certainly churches aren't going to be endorsing candidates, but if they advise on the issues (which they ARE allowed to do under 501(c)(3)) ... most people can connect the dots.
This should not be a surprise to anyone. All the 501(c)(3) churches have had their political teeth pulled.
What does the IRS say are the disadvantages of church incorporation and tax-exempt status? "The organization must not carry on propaganda, influence legislation, or intervene in political campaigns on behalf of or, after December 22, 1987, in opposition to, any candidates" (Code Sec. 501(c)(3) paragraph 4506, pg. 1636).
The church in America has sold out to the State, and now obtains her right to exist from the State. She now serves two masters, and wonders why her members are enslaved.
