A Muslim scholar who participated in recent Vatican talks to improve Catholic-Muslim relations criticized Pope Benedict XVI's Easter baptism of a prominent convert from Islam as a "provocative" act.
The Muslim so called scholar does not have any say in this issue, period. The baptism of Mr. Allam is a sign of freedom of religion and its normal. A freed man cannot be claimed back by so called scholar of dead peoples.
The way that the Italian socialist bureaucrats have distance themselves from this baptism has shown how weak the Italian government conviction in the midst of a battle.

God bless the Pope! I am not a Catholic but Benedict XVI impresses me as not only a man of God, but a supremely smart and bold man, as well. This baptism was a perfect message to the Muslim world. A defiant act that said, "people have a right to freedom of conscience, and they have a right to choose their own religion, and if the Muslim world doesn't like it, they can go to blazes."
More interesting are Allam's own comments about why he converted and what he thinks of Islam. I anticipate this provocative act causing the Muslims to go completely nuts, once again, after afternoon prayers at the mosque, this Friday (their typical "day of rage") and I expect that the leaders of these fanatics will take full advantage of it and whip them all into a frenzy. What the outcome will be is anybodies guess, but I suspect the Pope isn't going to back away from any of this. He seems to have chosen this as a moment to truly start confronting this Satanic death cult, and I hope he stands firm.

After reading many stories in the news about (1) the typical Muslim "scholars" knee-jerk reaction to anything and everything that doesn't fit exactly with how they think and (2) the pleasure Muslim "scholars" in the news seem to take in playing the role of "victim," I am quickly coming to the conclusion that the term "Muslim Scholar" is an oxymoron.
