Rev Wright has really not said anything most of us have not heard before. The problem is that he is getting to much attention on the media. It appears that he is very self centered and to give him any type of recognition, good or bad plays right into his spotlight plan. Barack Obama is in the spotlight because he is running for president and has a justifable reason for being in the spotlight. Wright has no reason for gaining any of our attention so lets get him out of the spotlight and focus on the real issues of our country. Personally I do not believe that Wright has any place in the media. Sure most of us would not know about him if were not for the media, but now that he has been exposed we need to cut him off from any further attention as he is nothing more than a distraction.

There is no "smear campaign" afoot here, that is either a plain and old fashioned falsehood or paranoia. Wright espouses black over Christ. Hey makes accusations of others (like the Feds) that he can't back up and his charges are most likely false charges.
He is a politician with a theological degree talking politics and not Jesus.
Pariah.

This is the first article that gave a balanced understanding to the recent Rev. Wright/Black church issue

Wright's rantings are anti-Christian. His church is outside the realm of Bible-based teachings. But this should come as no surprise given the fact that he had an openly-gay choir director -Donlad Young - for more than a decade. However, Young was murdered in December 2007.

Well John,
Only a few points to comment on. First of all, though I am sure that Jeremiah Wright and his church have done some good things for society, and especially for the African American communities. He also outrightly supports the leader of Nation of Islam. This blows my mind, it is one of my heaviest criticisms of Mr. Wright.
"First, it’s a form of racism."
Oh give me a break, Wright is obssessed with a "Black Agenda" and you say his critics are racist? I am all for reaching out to the marginalized and suffering, but I am not for devoting Christianity to one race or culture, not white not black, not asian, rather, dare I say humans.
"Wright could have remained silent, but to do so would have denied what he sees as his prophetic calling as a Christian pastor."
Let's define "prophetic"...
"As Wright observed about the difference between him and Obama"
I believe Wright was calling Obama a liar basically... which may or may not be true.
"Finally, let’s not forget that there are political games afoot, and this is politics at its nastiest. What’s more, with this latest maneuver, the Clintons and the Republicans are winning."
John, why is it the Clintons and Republicans? It is as if you have already decided that the Republican party is all evil nasty and treacherous, and only the Clintons from the Democratic side are. Besides that, Clinton and McCain said very little about it, I believe McCain even said he did not believe that Wright represented Obama's views, very generous of him, if you ask me.
This article struck me as fairly biased, but I guess most are hahahaha!
