The subject of the creation of the universe and everything that implies is divided into two camps, the scientific and the religious. Most Christians believe the book of Genesis describes how God created the universe, not in allegorical terms, but is specific in the details provided. Most scientists see it as simply a matter of science and would rather religion stay out of the issue.
