Many alleged men of the Lord have tried to predict the return of Jesus, and have failed.

These are a few of the most recent ones.

1) Harold Camping

Harold Camping of Family Radio incorrectly predicted the rapture several times over the years.

His first prediction came in a book in 1994. When that did not come to pass he moved the next date to May 21, 2011. He then claimed he was mistaken and that a spiritual Rapture occured on that day with the physical end of the world coming October 21, 2011. After that final prediction also failed he issued a public apology and said no one knows of the return but the Lord.

 2) Ronald Weinland

Ronald Weinland made three false predictions, Sep 29, 2011, May 27, 2012, May 18, 2013

After every prediction came and went, he claimed a year was a day in God's eyes and pushed the dates back. Shortly after his last prediction he was convicted of tax evasion and sentenced to three and half years in prison.

3) Herbert W. Armstrong

Herbert W. Armstrong was an Apostle of the Church of God, who incorrectly predicted the return of Jesus in 1935, 1943, 1972, and 1975.

He first predicted Christ would return in 1935, then, in 1940 he said in 3 1/2 years He would come back. When in 1943 the Rapture did not occur, he relocated his ministry.

In 1972 he wrote a book and said Jesus would arrive in three years. Wrong again...
