On Picture Day, many agonize over what outfit to choose for their immortalization in the pages of the school's yearbook. For Dale Irby, it was a no-brainer. The Dallas-area P.E. teacher wore the same polyester shirt and brown V-neck sweater in his yearbook photo from 1973 to his retirement year of 2012, an astonishing 40-year run.

"I was so embarrassed when I got the school pictures back that second year and realized I had worn the very same thing as the first year," Irby told the Dallas Morning News.

Irby's wife dared him to make it three in a row the following year, and he accepted. From there, there was no stopping him.

Behold the wonder of Dale Irby's enduring fashion sense and sense of humor.
