Natural law, which is science my friend, contends that one man and one woman who unite for life in the hopes of producing children is Marriage. Some couples are infertile, but this does not denigrate their intent. Marriage is foundational to every civilized soceity. True Marriage equality has to do with the rights of the Man and Woman in marriage.
Gays have no right to Marriage. Marriage is not a right, but an ability. Gays have no ability, despite an unnatural intent, to have children together. Their unions are not complimentary from an atomic physical level and are an aberration. It is an anomaly. While it does happen some times in nature, nature has a natural way of dealing with it so it doesn't become the norm. They die out.less

Why did we think you were not Christians, because the Catholic Church was the Church founded by Christ through the Apostles and your churches were all founded by men and women 1500-1900 years Late. How could you be Christians, we Catholics thought, you are not in HIS church. Now, this was not an infallible opinion it was a general opinion held by the majority of Catholics pre 1970's.
Today, I now accept you as Christians(Sepparated brothers and sisters in Christ). What binds us all as Christians is far more than what sepparates us.
Lastly, while I understand your example. It is flawed. Your premise doesn't work.
Bigotry has many levels. Calling a spade a spade is not always bigotry.
It is not bigoted to not give someone a right, they have no right to. Gays do not have the right to marry because it goes against natural law and scripture. Natural law is the marriage of one man and one woman who come together in the hopes of bearing children. Whether they bear a child or not is irrelevant, but it is the fact this is what the point of marriage is about.
Gays can never marry because it is unnatural, uncomplimentary and can never be fruitful so it is always a selfish act. This will never change and while many if not most Protestants will probably accept it over time, the Catholic Church will never change her opinion on this matter.less

He picks and chooses what form of Calvinism he preaches, but in the last few years his sermons are more Driscollism than straight Calvinism. I think he likes it that way and based on his cultish following he seems empowered to keep moving in his own direction.less
By the way, who said Mark Driscoll was a Theological Buff in the article? I'll admit he has some good Systematic Theology background, but a Theological buff are you kidding? That description is well above his station of ability. Rob Bell is a universalist which is totally unbiblical.

If the Pope can apologize for attrocities done by Catholics of previous centuries, then Evangelicals should do the same.less

Thank you Muggle and RefBap,
I agree with you both. I tend to try and show my charity to my neighbor first to build a friendship and by my example they will see my Lord who has sent me to them, and then once I know them share the Good News with them verbally too.
Example: Having lived in the Bronx, I would serve many people at the soup kitchen. After I see the same person more than once, I create a dialogue with them trying to get to know their circumstance. Once we have a relationship, then I verbally share the Gospel with them. I am also not talking about just sharing the Gospel with the poor who need the food, many of the volunteers also need the good news too.

As Christians we should not fear the end, but welcome it because our end here is our beginning with Christ in Heaven. Let us use Lent to convert our own hearts to Christ and lead our neighbor to Christ through our example and love.less

There is only one God. Most people do worship the Christian God as evidenced by every national and worldwide polling group. 2.3 Billion Christians from 2010 Barnam Research resources, while 1.2 Billion Muslims. 1.2 Billion are Catholic, 50 Million are "near Catholics", 300 Million are Orthodox, 80 Million Anglicans, 70 Million Reformed, 70 Million Lutherans, 60 Million Methodists, 65 Million Baptists and finally 400+ Million independant, non-denominational, pentecostal style churches.less
I get it, so if these people were not Catholic it would have been better? So, a Catholic dying for spreading the Word of God is not such a bad thing then? The anti-Catholics on this board will be judged by our founder, Jesus Christ. Enjoy Purgatory! It won't be fun.
First let them know their sin. If they don't turn back then bring a witness. If they still won't turn back, then take it to the Church. Obviously, the SBC won't make the easy decision here. All Gays must be accepted as children of God, but they must live a chaste life or they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Homosexual activity is an abomination to God. It is pure evil.
Hey Online, show me that the bible is the ONLY authority from the Bible and maybe IHS or any of us will do as you ask. The Bible is only one authoritative source from God. The Church hierarchy established and called by Christ himself in the Apostles passed down to the Bishops, then Sacred Tradition is on par with Sacred Scripture since they both come from the mouth of God.
