Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)

"According to the U.S. Census, Massachussetts, which has legalized gay marriages, has one of the lowest rates of divorce among all the states."
That is because it has one of the lowest marriage rates. Nice try, but you fall short.

"I've been saying for years that churches should voluntarily give up their tax exemption to say what they want and pay taxes like other organizations. While churches shouldn't be about making a profit (that is definitely anti-Biblical) they can give that non-profit status up and maintain some integrity."
This is a contradiction. If churches surrender to the unconstitutional provision of the tax code that silences them and "give up" tax emempt status, those churches will have to become profit-seeking commercial enterprises in order to keep their doors open.
I don't know when so many people decided to be fooled into thinking that the government has a right to even tax churches in the first place. Until 1954, churches and pastors said what they pleased. It was only in 1954, out of an act of political revenge, that churches suddenly lost freedom that they always had!
Why do so many people jump to the conclusion that the "solution" is for churches to give up fundamental constitutional rights in order to satisfy a portion of the IRS code that is unconstitutional in the first place?

"His closest friends were the prostitutes and the tax collectors and sinners."
Ummm...no.
There were no prostitutes among the disciples. The one "tax collector" was a FORMER tax collector.
"...and sinners."
No kidding. We are all sinners. That's kind of like saying, "All my brothers are male." What about that whole "sin no more" thing?
This kid has truly been poisoned by false teachers.
Pray, pray, pray.

To JC--
You wrote:
"You may want to read 1st Corinthians, Chapter 6, versus 9 and 10"
I would continue to verse 11:
"And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
Operative word in the first sentence-- "WERE." Operative word that follows -- "BUT." Meaning you must leave the life of active rebellion...you can't begin, or continue sinful defiance against God and still claim membership in His Kingdom.
Good, unassailable citations to support your point, and more importantly to advance Truth, JC.

"I am able to be a better person and a better Christian"
How on Earth has this confused young man arrived at the conclusion that openly and actively sinning against God makes him a "better Christian?"
Whoever has helped put him on this road to death in sin has not "loved" him, but led him astray. False teachers to be sure.
John 14:15: If you love me, you will obey my commandments.
John 14:23-24: If anyone loves me, he will obey my teachings... He who does not love me will not obey my teaching...
John 8:31:
If you follow my teachings, you are really my disciples.
John 15:14: You are my friends if you do what I command.
John 15:10: If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
John 14:21: Whoever hears my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me
Matthew 7:21: Not everyone who calls me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Luke 6:46: Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?
Matthew 19:17:
If you want to enter life, obey my teachings
James 1:22: Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
You can't just give God the spiritual finger. Of course, this goes without saying, we ALL struggle with sin. We have been promised that we will. However, this kid is not struggling, he has submitted, not to the Lord, but to the Deceiver...who is called the Deceiver and the Liar for a reason. Here we have a case in point. He is demanding that God accept his open rebellion and he is sure to drag children who watch him down the same deadly path.
Whoever reads this article. Pray vigorously for this poor young man and for the young Believers over whom he may have influence as a public figure.

Not sure you even read the article. Dr. Beam pointed out a number of Obama's positions on the issues and they are abominable. Did you miss the part about Obama's support of allowing babies born alive after an attempted abortion to DIE on a cold steel table? Read the article again. The evidence is there. This man is the most extreme candidate to ever be this close to the presidency. Sorry the truth that Dr. Beam expresses here offends you.

So John Doe, you are saying that speech with which you disagree should be suppressed.
Once upon a time, there was this thing called the First Amendment...
Ummmmmm, Lefty. If the sin associated with the riot outside of Lot's door had only to do with rape, why did Lot instead offer his DAUGHTERS instead of the male angels to the rioting homosexuals? If you really want to get down to it, it sounds to me that reading Gen. 19 as written (without the tortured revision attempt) that homosexual acts are worse than rape, or at the LEAST, homosexual rape is worse than man-woman rape. Either way, homosexual acts, consensual or not, are obviously judged by a different standard and carry greater shame.
Lefty, don't get all Isaiah 5:20 on us. Don't be wilfully blind to what you know to be the Truth. This is spoken in love that you don't continue down the path of the Deceiver.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
