Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)

Why would any spirit filled, born again Christian even entertain the thought of voting for Barack Obama. He is diemetrically in opposition to the teaching's of Christ, as well as Him being the ONLY way to salvation. I don't give a rip how or what Obama chooses to portay himself as, it's all smoke and mirrors.
Unfortunatley, there are a lot of ignorant, nieve people who don't educate themselves properly to find out the truth about what he really stands for, and Christians who listen to CNN instead of the decernment of the Spirit. Our society today is FULL of "LAZY THINKERS" who swallow everything the media serves up, because they don't take time to use the skills of critical thinking for themselves....shake your head people.
RANT-
I am SOOOOO tired of hearing the same OLD lame....did you hear me....SAME OLD pathetic song and dance of "let's bash George Bush". Talk about grasping for straws....on and on they repeat their mantra, and 99.9% of the bashing is not even factual, huh... imagine that!!!
I shudder to think of the degredation of society under a Barack Obama, who has an 'anything goes' liberal standard, which in the end.... always fails for a society. (do some research)
To me....these people are heroes of the faith....those who stand for Christ even in the face of torture and death. We western Christians could learn from their depth of commitment to the Lord.
Let us remember ALL our brothers and sisters around the world, who are persectuted daily just because they love Jesus....

This is SOOOOO fantastic and so needed in our world today.....I am very thankful that we (Christians & Jews) can really come together as one voice, to speak powerfully on the important shared values that are so lacking in our world today. I'm excited about the whole concept of what the Rabbi has stated in the article....I feel like doing a backflip.....but I won't, lol !
This shouldn't come as a surprise to those who are Spirit filled "doers" of the Word, and not just pew warmers. This is normal christianity....the book of Acts...we don't see as much of miraculous signs & wonders in the west because we aren't as 'sold out' to Christ and as faith-filled as those in eg.Africa, China, etc.
This is what we need to return to....AUTHENTIC Christianity....signs, wonders, and miracles.....GET READY, the supernatural is returning to the body of Christ!!!
You are wrong....that verse is not all about Jesus..... God is referring directly to Abraham's seed, ie; the generations of Jews to come. This verse is speaking of the Jewish people...this is Genesis here, remember... Old Testament.
Jesus hadn't come yet, so how could He possibly be refering to Jesus, when He's speaking to Abraham?! Plus, it is essential in understanding Scripture, that you look at the context of the WHOLE passage, not pick one selected verse out.
It sounds to me like you subscribe to that false 'Replacement Theology' teaching. You need to study the Scripture for yourself because that RT teaching is completly wrong, false, and erronous on every level.

I tend to agree that the split of church is simply because of their own personal preference politics.
Sure, you can have your opinion on issues, but as christians we need to go back to the Word and see what God says about what our stand should be. If people ACTUALLY practiced that, there would be a lot less division on important issues.....can you say 'UNITY"?

Personally, I couldn't give a rip what these individuals or any other group think/write in their little manifesto, etc.
I read God's Word, I know exactly what I believe based on that, and I can speak and think for myself.
I assume individuals come up with these manifesto ideas because there is an opportunity,ie; an 'open door', to do so. If true believers walked the talk, everyone would know what a christian is, and no one would feel the need to write a manifesto to clarify that....it would be self evident.

** Okay I just noticed that on the right-hand side of this post area, there are 3 Goggle advertsements for "GAY SINGLE MEN".....what is up with that?!?! Isn't his supposed to be the Christian Post...!

I'm really thankful that the Medthodists are staying with the athourity of God's word. People can and probably will, disagree on this homosexual thing (and others) till the Lord himself comes!
It's good to have opinions on issues, but you always have to go back to God's Word to make sure it lines-up with what He says. The bottom line is, it's not mankinds preference/ opinion that matters, it's God's....He has the final word, and He's stated it. It doesn't make one bit of difference if we don't like it....that's the way it is.
Honestly....I think we've all tried to justify or minimize a sinful behaviour because it's comfortable, it's what our flesh wants. You can probably take any sin and try to justify it.... but that sure doesn't make it ok with God....darn.(smile!)

Let's face it....your always going to have people slamming the body of Christ, whether it's deserved or not.
From what I have observed (for years) of Richard and Lindsay Roberts, they are genuine spirit-filled, wonderful, caring people. Who, on ocassions before this particular issue, have readily admitted they are no where near being perfect people, nor do they pretend to be.
There have been bold faced lies spread about them, and they never retaliated or spoke angrily or defended themselves. I'm sure if it was me, I would have given the TV audience/students a real earful of my side of what was really going on, and yet..... they were gracious, meek, self-controlled, and still praised God in the midst of the whole mess.
I don't care what anyone say's...they were an amazing example of christ-likness, you just can't "fake" that....it was inspiring!!!
It amazes me how people seem to easily forget that we ALL MAKE MISTAKES, in life.... yes, even Christians, and can't wait to point that ol' bony finger at someone!
I do NOT believe any of the gossip from the rumors of what was 'in the paper'. I think we all know how the newspapers aren't exactly reliable, as well they eat up a negative story, especially if it involves one of those "Christians".
Don't you think for 1 second, that there aren't people who are constantly looking for ways /chances to bring any type of Christ centered institutions of learning down, to discredit, malign, etc. or the people that run them
If those students want to leave the school from a bit of rough water, then I say GO. The school's probably better off without people that will bail out at the first sign of trouble....wah.

It seems to me that it is becoming more clear everyday, where the line will be drawn. There will be those who hold fast and strongly to the teachings of Christ(true believers), and those who are more concerned with being politically correct and oppose scripture. I guess it would be the difference between the fear (reverance) of God..... or the fear of man.
BTW Chicago24* -Christians "spend so much time"as you say, because it's an important issue to us. You apparently don't understand the full scope of what the repercussions are of what these groups decide, when it comes to issues that go against scripture. Your suggestion of doing what the CS group does, of putting our heads in the sand and pretend like nothings happening, is lame. It is of concern, because it is the fundamental chipping away at the basis of Christianity, and the disregard for the ultimate authority of God's never changing Word.
BTW* john 14-6- Nice try with the ......"They already allow women pastors, so they have long been in violation of Biblical doctrine as it is" statement. This may be a news flash for ya but, God will call, whomever he see's fit to call, regardless of gender. I KNOW what you are referring to, but you need to read scripture in it's proper context, my friend!

I cannot believe the BOLDNESS with which these individuals/groups claim that homosexuality is not a sin. I'd like to know what bible they're reading because every one I read says it is. In fact, I've had non-christians read the same verses, and they come to the same conclusion that God says it IS a sin. I mean....this isn't rocket science here!
Yesterday, I saw a website for Metropolitan community church, and it stated that Jesus celebrated and confirmed homosexual relationships, as well they stated that, many theologians agree and are seeing scripture with a new set of eyes. (I'll bet!) I NEVER thought I'd see the day that people would so blatantly go against Scripture, all the while claiming to represent the church of Christ....whoa.

The Human Rights Commission have become a meanace to Canadians because they behave as though they are "Judge, Jury and Executioner". They have unchecked power and have been in the news recently for another of this 'type' of decison making. They are a dangerous, completly biased group, who make ruling's on next to no evidence because they are accountable to no one.
They DO NOT represent the large majority of people's views in Canada, and are a total embarrassment and a disgrace to the country!!!

Wow, this is so exciting!!!
One of my best friends is from Iran, and she told me all about what life for her was like when she lived there, and she says under Sharia Law it is an even more terrible existance for the people.
Most of the youth want change and don't like the President of Iran, but when they protest or speak out they are punished severly.
I am very thankful the people of Iran are hearing the Good News message of God's love and salvation!!

I was very SHOCKED by this man's tone and language, as someone claiming to be a pastor, and to say those kind things in the sanctuary, wow! Some of the things he said you'd be more likely to hear from a non-believer at a bar or pub, not in a church, good grief.
It's quite sad...to me, he just comes across as a very bitter person....maybe there's some deep seeded resentment or anger in his heart over something that he needs to deal with?
VERY WELL STATED ,MR. COLSON!
That, dear friends, is the reality of reaching ALL people with the love of Jesus....let your light shine!!!

The UN never ceases to amaze me with their total lack of wisdom.
They state that giving priority to persecuted christians that would descriminate against others, but they should take into account that Christians are THE MOST persecuted group in the whole world!!!
If every group was treated with the same level and frequency of violent acts as these people, then that's a valid point, but it's just not so.

Wow....that's amazing to me that he would come to the conclusion that homosexuality is perfectly okay with God. Even just medically speaking, it is a very dangerous, unhealthy lifestyle. God would never "okay" something that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually damaging.
Like someone said previously, Jesus loves the person....but not the sin,nor did he ever condone it. He loves us too much to leave us in that condition....thank God!!!
I see Mr.Obama as a chamelon....he simply adapts to whatever the values of the group of people he's trying to win support for want to hear. He's a very intelligent man, who can speak eloquently, but he holds his cards very close to his chest.....
I think there is a public Obama who presents a set of views which the public finds favorable, and then there is the private man who has his views, which we know nothing about. That makes me very nervous....
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
