    Can I assume that opponents of this bill, which simply amends an existing federal hate-crimes law, will support the repeal of the existing law so that it is no longer a hate-crime to commit violence against someone because they are a Christian? I doubt it.

    It is the height of hypocrisy to deny protections to one group under a hate-crimes law when your group already enjoys that protection.
