  • Christians Advised on How to Pray as Middle East Unrest Spreads

Jesus said that when we see these things happening in the Middle East, we should lift up our heads for our redemption draws near! Even so, "Come quickly, Lord Jesus!"

  • 'Soulprint' Author: God Doesn't Want Another Billy Graham

Actually, Jesus (who IS God) said that we should be like our Father in heaven! I wonder how Batterson could downplay a command like that one! We all would do very well to take our witnessing cue from Dr. Graham. Just imagine if more believers would take a bigger interest in the Great Commission. That's all Dr. Graham did! We all would do very well to take our witnessing cue from Dr. Graham. Just imagine if more believers would take a bigger interest in the Great Commission. That's all Dr. Graham did! He took very seriously what the Lord Jesus had done in his life. He "never got over" being saved from death and hell by the blood of Jesus, his hero! And yet, rather that just stepping it up to be LIKE Billy Graham...maybe we should simply follow Jesus' command to be "like our Father in heaven...HIM!" Amen?less

  • So. Baptist Withdraws From Interfaith Coalition on Mosques

For Chicago24... Not all SOuthern Baptists are male, white, upper-middle-class, or Protestants. During the Reformation, priests who were practicing Roman Catholics broke from the RCC due to serious disagreements over several non-Biblical practices. The Baptist faith was alive long before that of the Protestants. Although any true Baptist would definitely "protest" many of the practices of the RCC, we did not come out of the Protestant Reformation...FYIless

  • Can We Stop Bad Mouthing the Future of the Church?

"Purpose Driven?" O that we could all surrender and be "Jesus led." How does one know if he/she is "Jesus led"? "Purpose Driven?" O that we could all surrender and be "Jesus led." How does one know if he/she is "Jesus led"? His/Her heart is filled with compassion for those who are lost, confused, deceived, and lack the peace of God that comes only by experiencing the love of God. By following Jesus' perfect example, we are to 'seek and to save that which is lost.' That means focusing our attention and energy on the single-most important thing according to Jesus...which is the sharing of the Gospel until He returns. In the face of such a task all arguments and contentions pale in importance. Therefore, it is imperative in the carrying out of Jesus' last command that we replace our arguing with time much better spent on seeking those who need to hear the truth about how God loves all people and desires to have a personal, eternal relationship with them.
I propose that each of us who claim the name of Jesus simply compare the amount of time we spend arguing and criticizing others with the amount of time we spend sharing the Good News with others. Shame on us if the latter practice doesn't far outweigh the former! Amen?less
