"Religious bigots can't wrap their head around the idea that gay people are also of God and were made exactly as they are by God"

What do you mean by "of God"?

"Pro 13:5 A righteous man hates lying, But a wicked man is loathsome and comes to shame."

loathsome: causing feelings of loathing; disgusting; revolting; repulsive:

So, it's someone who practices and defends porneia. Thanks for pointing this out about yourself, HM!!!!

"why do you keep inssting that the bible is the word of God "

1 out of every 1 x 10 to the 17th power. That is a conclusive answer to your question.

"If I do that and you, someone I don't know and who doesn't know me, tells me I am wrong (for accepting my homosexuality, for example), I'm sorry but I am not going to listen to you over what god has instructed me to do."

1Cr 6:13 Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.

1Cr 6:18 Flee immorality. Every {other} sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

The word translated "immorality" is the greek word porniea which means:

    1) illicit sexual intercourse
    a) adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.

Those who don't understand greek say it has to do with prostitution (money) but...

1Cr 5:1 "It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father's wife. "

Unless you subscribe to the concept that the son was paying the mother for sex (which would show lack of brain activity...) then porneia is NOT about prostitution.

...and Jesus WAS murdered. It is clear you are unable to understand or comprehend grace. YOU are stuck in the law, HM. YOU still call for His death....

"If there's ANYTHING Catholics and evangelicals can agree on, it's that promoting hatred is more important to them than anything else."

God HATES sin so yes we promote hatred. We hate what God hates. Don't you?

Hi, Norman! I went to that site you posted. I do like the fact that they said "Please keep in mind that by "inconsistencies" I do not necessarily mean "contradictions." "

Let's look at the first one on the list:

GE 1:3-5 On the first day, God created light, then separated light and darkness.
GE 1:14-19 The sun (which separates night and day) wasn't created until the fourth day.

Gen 1:14 ¶ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

The word firmanent is a bit of an odd word in English. The Hebrew is raqiya which means:

    1) extended surface (solid), expanse, firmament
    a) expanse (flat as base, support)
    b) firmament (of vault of heaven supporting waters above)
    1) considered by Hebrews as solid and supporting 'waters' above

So, the first set of verses is talking about the creation of the light from the sun and the second set is the formation of night and day on the earth itself (possibly starting the world to spin on it's axis).

Again, this is why I really don't use the English translation as the basis of my faith. It is a translation....

We know that. People like HM and others have only sought to harm others with their insults. It eventually moved to the point where one of their own got wounded. At least Jar said he was sorry and out of line. Still, HM keeps posting it.

This is why I have warned often about HM having blasphemed the Holy Spirit. It makes him dangerous to others on a site like this. It throws gas on the fire to the point where people got burned. They want to win an arguement and feel they can insult anyone. Now it's gone to far.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but when HM was coming after me talking about my first wife...no one was agreeing with him from his side. You see, Mike and I disagreed on many things but we had a civil respect for each other and what we did to help children. It had to be worked through at first for each of us to understand the other but atleast Mike is objective. People like HM are just here to hurt anyone who holds to traditional values. Verbal retaliation is seen in most of his posts for how fundies have hurt him. Guess what? I'm not a "fundie". They don't want me. I'm about grace and obedience out of love. Liberals don't want me. Why? I'm about grace and obedience out of love.

Why am I here at CP? I want to form relationships with others. This is a community site. I wasn't simply interested in winning some arguement with Mike. I wanted to know how things were at his school. I wanted to know how his Masters was coming. Maybe some of the Homosexual Fundies need to look past their desire to win and actually find out what people like me are all about.

I'm the one who suggested that people like HM should be allowed to stay. They were just keeping things from being posted for quite some time. They still monitor but I'm the one who said that this is a mission field. It's about putting out what the grace of God is. God does NOT accept sin. God forgives and frees from sin. That is grace.

"I believe Jesus was a great teacher, but not divine-that story was made up"

I take it then you have never read Evidence That Demands a Verdict or More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell. He was an athiest at Berkley in the 60's. Enough said? He's quite the youth evangelist now....

" believe in God-a God of love who cares only about the two rules-love God and love thy neighbor"

From the sound of the rest of your post you were invovled with "churchianity" instead of Christianity. I also hold to these two over all else. What does it mean to love God? Your terms or His?

HM--you have been far worse than Jar. Atleast he isn't smug about it. You've been far worse to me and others and then play the victim as I'm sure you will in responding to this post. It's simply something we have come to expect from you. You have it down to a science. You are not here to discuss but rather just to stir the pot.

I don't think Jar was right for what he posted but atleast he's man enough to own up to what he did and appologize. All you want to do is play the victim.

You may be barking up the wrong tree. Still, this time of year seems to bring out colorful dialog....
