Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
Obviously, torture is the opposite of what Jesus wants us to do. It makes sense that the terrorists, and the devil, want us to fear: "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
(Mat 10:28 KJVR)
The Apostle Peter speaks of terror: "Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ."
(1Pe 3:8-16 KJVR)
The Apostle John said: "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"
(1Jo 4:17-20 KJVR)
No, I do not fear death, or mutilation, or harm to my lovely family. My job is to behave as Jesus did, and drive out the moneychangers if called for using the rule of law (see what Paul says in Romans 13), but not to worry about what terrors the devil can inflict.
Its amazing to me how the "Christian" Post can publish such vitriol, then tell commentors that they mustn't make personal attacks. How can any Christian support a party that supports torture??? Does the following describe the author, or his victims?
...Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
(Rom 1:30-32 KJVR)

This "Family Values" test is no litmus for being a faithful Christian. Bush would rate highly, but is still Pro-Torture, among his many other sins. I would vote for McCain (who knows how off-track this country is) if he wasn't a strong Bush supporter in 2004. When is the Christian "Right", including CCF, going to rebuke this madness?
"And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him." Luke 12:4-5
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people.
