"You're into witchcraft? Whoa. I hear it's one of the fastest growing beliefs going today. There's been huge sale increases of brooms at our local stores, so ..."
Actually Rollin' I'm a modern witch, I fly on a vacuum cleaner. :) Brooms are so 20th century.

"Religion allows us to fly into heaven and around after that with the Holy Angels. "
Exactly, just as witchcraft allows us to fly around the house (sometimes we're just too tired to walk) or turn our son-in-law into an artichoke if he gets too lippy. :-)

"If God is the true source of love for Christians...how can a marriage be loveless?"
Because human reality is stronger than human fantasy, no matter how hard you want it to be so.
So, why is this even a news story?
"Matthew Shepard is in eternal hell fire now and will never get out."
I see, so you've created an immoral god in your own image, strange I thought Christians believed the exact opposite.

Good lets also get rid of those scary anti-american words on the tomb of the unknown soldier...'unknown but to God' how shocking..and the words in the constitution ending with..'signed this ....year of our Lord" this acknowledges that Jesus was THE Christ..again shocking..Lincolon also used this term in his Emancipation Proclamation...sig heil aclu..our guide...

Yup, its time to learn from our past mistakes, this is a secular nation after all. It's clear that our secularism is going to be more cherished with each passing generation.

"She further added that the side of the book-like monument, where the Bible citation had been lcoated, will be filled with artwork or a more secular inspirational message. "
A secular inspirational message will be much more appropriate to all faiths and non-believers.

oh I see what you mean Believer, sorry, I lost the link to that old article we were chatting on, it doesn't show up anymore from the home page. So we can continue our conversation here.
Johnzon, you and I do think alike, we both probably like to use a little something called "logic". It makes no sense what so ever for God to torture people simply because they don't believe in him due to the lack of solid evidence. Again a book written by humans doesn't cut it as proof. God was clearly designed to use immoral punishments because his designers had immoral tendencies themselves, they were called humans.

dis, are you coming back to the christian students counter site?
********************
not sure what you mean by the christian students counter site believer.
I would be celebrating with friends of mine, the rest are not friends and won't share in the celebration by their own choice.
********************
Yes and I agree, but the second you torture or allow the torture of one of those friends of yours who declined your invitation you become immoral simple as that. On earth you would be arrested and punished for your immoral act of torture.
God does not send anyone "the eternal torture chamber" they do that to themselves!
*********************
God designed the earth, universe, heaven and hell, did he not? God could make some simple change in his design to prevent the large majority of souls from ending up in hell, but alas he does not. I say you are worshiping an immoral God for this very reason. One command from God and he could destroy the devil, but nope, God must think its more fun to have him around.
You don't seem to have a problem with your boss issuing you an ultimatum to get it right, but only when God says you choose; My way (His system) or your way (thinking His system needs fixing).
************************
That's because any system that has a 70% failure rate be it a car or God's plan needs fixing and was improperly designed to begin with. If God designed humans to have free will and be of a questioning nature then he must have known that a large majority would question him and rightly so. If God was a moral and just God he would figure out ways of getting nearly everyone to heaven.

do you think God has a right to ask those He gave His Son to die on a cross for to do something in return?
**************************
Hi Forgivensinner, if that was truly the case then yes I sure do think he deserves something in return. But with that said god's report card is showing an F. If I only had a 30% success rate on my class work I would get failing grades and I would deserve those failing grades. God should be ashamed of himself allowing 70% of his creations to head off to eternal torture. He needs to stop and think about what he is doing and make some necessary changes to his system/design. If I was a designer/manufacturer of a car and the car only started 3 out of every 10 tries, my boss would issue me an ultimatum, go back to the drawing board, find out what is wrong and fix it asap or you're fired. God has had plenty of time to fix this and has obviously not made any progress in fixing his system. It is illogical to think that any thinking being would not go back and make necessary changes to something they designed when these changes could be so easily made.

Off to the eternal torture chamber..so much for the loving Christian God.
********************
In another thread it had been stated that approximately 70% of all human soles get sent to "the eternal torture chamber" due to the simple fact that they do not accept Christ as their savior in one fashion or another. Only an immoral god would allow that happen to so many souls which apparently so many here actually believe.

God does not send anyone to hell,
*************************
I don't buy that Believer, if God was the designer of Heaven then he was also the designer of Hell. If he makes the rules that makes the decision when someone goes to heaven or hell, then he takes responsibility for sending 70% of all humans to burn for eternity. Anyone or anything who allows 70% of all souls to perish like this is immoral. Unfortunately humans designed your god and did so in their immoral image.

That's good to hear Believer, if its true because you used the words "I believe", which means you really don't know for sure. I would like to think that an immoral God that tortures 70%+ of the worlds population after they die for eternity at least shows a hair of empathy for children.

There was a horrible apartment fire here a few weeks ago and a 3 year old child died of smoke inhalation, it was a terribly tragic day. The parents of the child are Muslims, did the child being too young to know better to become Christian and be saved go to be tortured in hell for eternity or does God make exceptions for the very young? I'm just curious what the bible says about that. No, this is the first time I've posted here, I've have been reading this forum for a while and I have posted in a couple of other forums.

OK so then it would be safe to say that only 30% (if that) of the worlds population ends up in Heaven and the rest are tortured for eternity. Wow, isn't that sad?

As for that last comment. Would you be able to provide an estimate of all the humans living in the world now that don't believe in Jesus Christ? And not just an estimate but an estimate that you yourself actually believe?
*********************
Rebel, reports say approximately 33% of the world is Christian, but I assume that not all of the 33% make the cut and get into heaven.
So would it be safe to say that about 70% of the human population ends up in hell after they die?

GOD'S word says you will NOT get to heavan unless it is through HIS son JESUS CHRIST only.
*************************************
Interesting and good to know. So question then for everyone here, I would be interested in hearing everyone's opinion on this. Of all the humans on earth, what would you estimate to be the percentage of people who really and with all their heart accept Jesus Christ and then are allowed into heaven? Please include an actual number with your response, such as 75%, 25% or 99%???

To be in a position to know that, impies one has all and complete knowledge of everything from which one can make such a judgment.
*****************************
Very true statement Down Under, I completely agree. That's why when it comes down to it there really is no such thing as Atheists and no such thing as Christians, we're all really a big bunch of Agnostics because no one really knows or has hard proof of anything.

Then when I get to heaven Believer I will simply explain to your god that as a thinking person the evidence was lacking for his existence. A book written by man doesn't cut it. I'm sure if he's the loving god you all say he is, he will understand unconditionally and welcome me in.

You see it appears you fail to see what is at stake here, the eternal destiny of people's lives.
************************
Believer, no I do not fail to "see" what is at stake here, I simply do not believe that anything is at stake here, BIG difference.
For Christians know the way to eternal Life
*******************************
And Atheists know there is no such thing as eternal Life.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people.
