"Because homosexuality as we know it in the modern era didn't exist." It didn't? What did homosexuals back thendo, sexually, that is different from today? "Isn't that the LGBT mantra?" No. It isn't. At least I've never heard any self-respecting gay person claim anything even close. "Isn't that what Judge Walker declared?" I don't think so.
More @ Chas, "Marriage is not a right, but an ability." ??? This just gets absurder and absurder. "Gays have no ability, despite an unnatural intent, to have children together." If having children ("together" or with the help of IVF, surrogates, etc. as many heterosexuals take advantage of because THEY, likewise, have no ability between themselves) were a requirement of marriage, you'd...more

"Gays have no ability, despite an unnatural intent, to have children together."
If having children ("together" or with the help of IVF, surrogates, etc. as many heterosexuals take advantage of because THEY, likewise, have no ability between themselves) were a requirement of marriage, you'd have a point. It isn't and you don't. Plus, many people - gay AND str8 - have no "intent" to bring children into the world. It is only hate that makes you type the word "unnatural" as pertains to God's gay and lesbian children.
"Their unions are not complimentary from an atomic physical level"
This is pseudo-'scientific' gobbledegook. My husband's and my "atomic physical" beings are VERY 'complimentary', thanks anyway.
"and are an aberration."
Only statistically. But then again, so are left-handed people. Big whup.
"It is an anomaly."
Again, only statistically, but then again, so are red-heads.
"While it does happen some times in nature, nature has a natural way of dealing with it so it doesn't become the norm. They die out."
It happens A LOT in nature (read "Biological Exuberrance". And, much to your (very apparent) dismay (and apparent wish), gay creatures do NOT "die out" - you betterosexuals keep on making more of us.

@ Chas,
"The definition of marriage, by natural law has always been between one man and one woman."
This is not true. First of al, "natural law" is a construct of the Catholic Church. Not all citizens are Catholic, and not all Catholics agree with this particular doctrine. Plus, marriage in America was "1 WHITE man and 1 WHITE woman. Heterosexual black couples were not allowed to marry - even each other, nevermind someone of another race. Bearing false witness does not help you make your case against equality.
"When a man has more than one wife it is not marriage"
Not currently, in America.
"but a contract to produce children."
That's just absurd. Can't ONE man "contract" with ONE woman and produce children? Polygamy does not change the contract. And, not that producing children" is a requirement of marriage - ANYONE'S.
"Natural law, which is science my friend"
B.S. It is a construct of the Catholic Church and has NOTHING (as in NADA, ZIP, NICHTS, RIEN. BUPKES) to do with science.
"contends that one man and one woman who unite for life"
But many people do NOT "unite for life". Not even Catholics.
"in the hopes of producing children"
Such "hope" is utterly futile for the elderly and the infertile, But somehow we let THEM marry, so long as they're betterosexual.
"Some couples are infertile, but this does not denigrate their intent."
If they know they are infertile, then their "intent" when they marry is not to produce children. That's just delusional.
"Marriage is foundational to every civilized soceity."
And yet you would exclude some of society from entering into the institution.
"True Marriage equality has to do with the rights of the Man and Woman in marriage."
According to YOU. Others disagree.
"Gays have no right to Marriage."
Apparently many jurisdictions disagree with you. As do I.less
I'm not sure that discussions of The "Babylonian Talmud" of "ancient Greece" or the "days of Noah" and ancient Roman, Persian or Egyptian societies have anything to do with DOMA - a law pertaining to civil contracts in 21st Century America. Speaking of "holes" in arguments ...
I agree with your first statement - because gay couples aren't asking for your "validation" (they're smart enough to know that they'll likely never change closed minds). As for "sanctity", marriage is a civil contract. Only the Rite of Holy Matrimony is considered 'sanctified', and no gay couple is asking for YOUR faith's blessing - there's enough out there that will perform same-gender marriag...more
I agree with your first statement - because gay couples aren't asking for your "validation" (they're smart enough to know that they'll likely never change closed minds).
As for "sanctity", marriage is a civil contract. Only the Rite of Holy Matrimony is considered 'sanctified', and no gay couple is asking for YOUR faith's blessing - there's enough out there that will perform same-gender marriages. (Don't ever forget that all clergy intone the words: "And now, by the powers VESTED IN ME BY THE STATE ..." and not vice-versa.)
What gay couples seek is equal treatment before the law - by the GOVERNMENT. The DOMA forbids the government from recognizing perfectly legal marriage contracts - and THAT is the UN-Constitutional part.
As for this nonsense from Richard Land: "Where do you stop? I ask same-sex proponents this all the time and they end up sputtering,” said Land to The Christian Post on Thursday. “What about polygamy? ‘Well that’s wrong.’ According to you. Who are you to impose your morality on someone else?"
Equal treatment means ALL citizens get the exact same rights. Currently in America, NO ONE has the right to multiple spouses. And same-gender marriage does not "impose" (or even have as a goal) multiple spouse marriages.
Continuing the false witness, Land adds: "What about adult siblings?" Marriage establishes kinsihp where none existed before. Siblings are ALREADY kin. They have no NEED of marriage.
This is just another bald-faced attempt to instill more of the scare-monger "ick factor" so typical of Richard Land and the other anti-gay haters by suggesting same-gender marriages are the same thing as incest.
Vile. And unworthy of one who claims the name of Christ.less
I find the headline of this article misleading (aka false, aka a lie, aka the bearing of false witness): "Catholic Support for Traditional Marriage May be Higher than Analysis Claims" The poll wasn't ABOUT "traditional [i.e. heterosexual] marriage]. "Catholic Support for Traditional Marriage May be Higher than Analysis Claims"
The poll wasn't ABOUT "traditional [i.e. heterosexual] marriage]. Being in favor of EQUAL marriage rights for God's gay and lesbian children does NOT signify LACK of "support" for heterosexual marriage. Personally, I think heterosexual marriages are a terrific thing - FOR HETEROSEXUALS. I "support" them. But I also support equal treatment before the (secular) law.
It is an absurdity to ask gay people to enter into a lie of a marriage, in which people vow to love, honor and/or cherish the other. Gay people love others of the same gender.
For an organization calling itself the "CHRISTIAN Post" to lead off with false witness is unworthy for those who claim the name of Christ.less
