Whenever Christians argue that a symbol of their religion really ISN'T a symbol of their religion (which is done nearly every time Christians want the government to promote their religion, so they try to "disclaim" the religious symbolism), it always reminds me of Peter denying Christ.

Flagged as inappropriate. show "The reason the founding fathers crafted the constitution to keep religion out of government was to prevent the establishment of a Christian theocracy which would have led to censorship and persecution." No. The Constitution was crafted to keep the government out of religion, and to prevent the government from creating a state religion. --Red Five hide

Of course they're happy. Mexican immigrants are overwhelmingly Catholic and conservative on social issues. It makes perfect sense that Christian groups would support an attempt to garner 20 million (12 is a very underestimated number) anti-gay, anti-choice votes. Nevermind the fact that California is broke because of the massive negative drain on social services brought about by so many people that don't contribute. And no, sales tax doesn't really count for anything. The studies show (independent, not partisan) that they take in social services over 3 times more than what they contribute.
I agree that parents need to spend more time communicating with their children about sex and being realistic about the level of privacy they allow. However, kids who want to have sex will find a way. When I was in high school, I had sex with about 30 salesgirls in the bathroom of the local mall. My strict Christian parents figured I couldn't get into much trouble going to the arcade at the mall. Parents need to have realistic conversations with their kids about sex, not just police their privacy.

Funny how these life-prolonging treatments were considered "playing God" by the religious just a few decades ago. Now that they've caught on in the mainstream, the religious think it's "playing God" to NOT use them.

You are missing the point by taking this at face value. He is not serious at all, I actually side with him on this one, he is showing how the government is throwing away our money. Larry Flynt has a long history of going up against the government.

Utah, N.C. prosecutors find no crimes with 'Hounddog'
GARY D. ROBERTSON - The Associated Press
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Prosecutors in two states said Friday they found nothing illegal about a movie shot in North Carolina and screened this week at Utah's Sundance Film Festival that depicts a child rape, and instead said "Hounddog" offered viewers a "good message" about child sexual abuse.
The movie has troubled some Christians, who have called for a federal investigation into whether the movie breaks federal anti-pornography laws. A state lawmaker in North Carolina also said he is drafting legislation that would require the state approve the script of any television or movie production seeking a state tax break.
But Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, who watched the movie this week with his state's child sexual exploitation law in hand, said his concerns didn't materialize on the screen.
"None of the things on the Internet that people were saying about it were true," Shurtleff said. "Not only does it not violate the statute, I think it's a good message for people on the subject."
The opinion is shared by the district attorneys in the two North Carolina counties where "Hounddog" was filmed last summer.

I learn a painful lesson from failing to convert others. First you have to make yourself a model example to others before helping them. People tend to listen to "great" people rather than mere losers blabbing.

There is no such thing as evolution. Saying that we originate from apes, is totally ridiculous. The key to all these events is the flood during the time of Noah(do more research if u think this story is no more than a myth). You cant assume that people are more technologically advanced with time, if you cant prove the level of technology before the flood.

I cannot establish any policy merely on whether or not it will save the human race from a period of suffering or from extinction. - Geoffrey Fisher, Archbishop of Canterbury, in a letter to Philip Toynbee ("The worst you could do would be to usher people sooner and in their millions into a higher form of life to which they're destined anyway.")

"</i>It is God's place to judge, ... anyone who claims to have the authority to do so, ..., is in danger of hell."</I>
Then why are you judging those who claim they have the authority to do so?
The man does have a serious point. The US legal system is absolutely FULL of references to "God" and yet there's meant to be a separation of church and state, he's exposing the hypocrisy of such a system.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
