  • Church and State Issues Flood Noah's Ark Theme Park

I'm all in favor of using public money as long as the builders promise to put life-sized figures of every species currently known to exist on it. Since there's no evolution, all of the existing species must have been present on the ark...I'm willing to bet you couldn't get all the known insects on an ark of that size.

Agreed. But the issue is I don't parade my "lustful" sins around to the whole world and declare that it is my "right" because I was "born this way". Instead I read the scripture daily and pray that Jesus work with me on this daily. It will always be a struggle. And I also installed internet filters on my computer. And when I am around women I try my hardest to only look at them in their eyes. And any sexual thoughts I have in the day I rebuke in Jesus' name. Your premise is wrong. Most Atheists are well versed in the bible more so then most Christians. What you call 'pick and choose' is correct enough but that is precisely the problem. If you worship a god whose written word supports slavery, rape and infanticide then you must account for that. It not as if the passages are questionable or taken out of context; this stuff is plainly written. As a [recovering]Catholic, I never once a priest use Leviticus in a sermon (well except when he wanted to denigrate gays). There is a reason for that omission which is why they "pick and choose" only the nice parts of the 'good book' to discus.

Atheist point this out because (1) it is the 500lb gorilla sitting in the pew and (2) it is an indefensible position for the faithful.less

Your analysis of problems with evolution are flawed. It is a theory accepted by all in the scientific community with the exception of some fringe cases. While this does not mean that every aspect is totally understood, no new evidence is likely to refute the theory. (The word theory being used in its proper scientific notation instead of the oft misinterpreted colloquial use).

I always think it strange for the faithful to reject the evidence of evolution. Considering their holy writings are replete with factual errors, ambiguities, and contradictions within the writings themselves, they are in a poor position to judge the validity of competing theories.less

Atheists really should celebrate Christmas. Deu 12: "Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. It makes perfect sense the way it is. God shed sinless blood on the cross. How can you contend with sinless blood? Do you really think that you are that great? It makes perfect sense the way it is. God shed sinless blood on the cross. How can you contend with sinless blood? Do you really think that you are that great? Without out the shedding of blood there is no remission. We are sanctified, justified, glorified, and counted as righteous through Jesus Christ. You cannot work to get this, you can't even get it on your own. "John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." NO ONE CAN COME. "Isaiah 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;" To him that works you only build debt upon your self "Romans 4:4
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt." Romans chapter 1: pagans condemned, Romans chapter 2: moralist condemned, Romans chapter 3: ALL CONDEMNED. There is none that seek, there is none that understand, there is none righteous. Go back to John chapter 6, if you want to be saved you better start praying about it because there is no other way. And onto the stereotypical analogy of the "sweet religious muslim lady". Jesus Hates Religion. Clearly if she wanted the truth she would be praying about it (to Jesus) but she didn't. She is FINE doing it her way (spitting in God's face). And to the man that rapped her, clearly he was lead to repentance and understanding and knowing just how much of a scum bag he (we all are) is. Through repentance comes salvation. Man cannot work to be righteous. Lets take a look at the Apostle Paul. Jesus has appeared to him and even taken him to the 3rd heaven (sky->comos->third heaven). What did Paul do when he got back? Sit around dancing with the daisies and watching TV and saying things like we are all going to be just fine? NO! He went on to write some of the most complicated literature known to man. A good bible study on the book of Romans will take over 2 years. He came back paranoid and writing things like "Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him," If we suffer with Him....Can we loose our salvation? No, but we can loose our gifts and rewards. If you are worried about the poor people that are going to hell and have never heard the gospel, then get out of your house and start witnessing (instead of complaining and arguing, through pride comes contention). And stop being some kind of an armrest warrior. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcz25mkXl1M&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlbRTtL4ChM take heed folks, or you might just find yourself at the great white throne judgment.less
