Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
Todd, if you will reread the scriptures madyar posted, you will see that Jesus taught consistently on the theme of loving others whether they loved you or not, whether they "deserved" it or not, because that is the way Christ loved. It was hate that put Him on the cross, that was just the reality of it.less
Hey Muggle, you know I'd love to read it. Sure wish you WOULD get off your fanny (not going to mention your adjectives hehe) though and go for the gold on one of them -- you've been penning things for a while now and I think you should go for it. What does your wife think? Anyway, if you've lost my email we'll figure some way to get it back to you. Let's see if I can go back and get yours. Wi...more

Todd, it never even occurred to me that it might be you. However, I'm afraid it was most likely one of the non-christian regulars; there tends to be those that just mark disagree to anyone that they have learned is not of their particular persuasion. However, we'll never know unless someone 'fesses up. Who knows, could have been just a mistake. Besides, I only mentioned it as a way to maybe ge...more

However, we'll never know unless someone 'fesses up. Who knows, could have been just a mistake. Besides, I only mentioned it as a way to maybe get the one who did it to maybe think outside the "oh I'll just mark disagree because I always disagree with this person" box. LOL probably doesn't work but, what the heck, you can always hope people will grow up sometime!!less
Todd, you must be pretty young. In 1963 a banner like this was never an issue. Mentioning God or Jesus was never an issue. Prayer when ever and where ever was never an issue. This "epidemic" that had been going on long before our very own first Congress sat was never an issue. Until our nation decided that God no longer fit into their "everything is relative" mind set, and they needed to get ...more

Todd, I didn't "twist" anything. Reread your comment, then reread mine. Now, I am very sorry you don't believe Red Cross' bio, but that really doesn't have anything to do with anything but your perception. There are Christians involved in all kinds of non-religious type programs, and as a Christian I personally would be hard put not to mention at SOME point that "God cares about your suffering,...more
Todd, I didn't "twist" anything. Reread your comment, then reread mine. Now, I am very sorry you don't believe Red Cross' bio, but that really doesn't have anything to do with anything but your perception. There are Christians involved in all kinds of non-religious type programs, and as a Christian I personally would be hard put not to mention at SOME point that "God cares about your suffering, and so do I". Most people in dire straits want very much to hear that they are cared about, and are comforted with that kind of thing. However, hard core proseltizing is not appropriate for people experiencing disasters, I don't care who it is. Prayer requests, God's love in your actions, these kinds of things are a heart outpouring, not some kind of trick. Besides, I've done many things to help others without anything other than caring; at some point the people will know where it comes from -- often they ask. I realize you don't understand this, you have no knowledge of it.
Anyway, I've gotten somewhat off track -- I simply asked if you agree with any tax breaks, so I assume by your answer that you would say "not if there's any conceivable chance that religion might be involved". Am I correct? And if so, why is this? And don't give me talk about separation-of-church-and-state. I want to know why from what's inside.less
Muggle -- HABANEROS!!!! Quick, where's the milk, pant pant pant. :-). LOL. Actually, we plant hot bananas, jalapenos and cayenne (which we dry), and I can them. We even make our own salsa, nice and hot if you please! Surely you could take an hour and get some of that nice warm dirt on your hands.....heavenly. Hubby does his garden by hand, builds nice muscles, gets bigger every year (the ga...more

Good to see you back here, we need more of your reasoned Godly stance. God bless you, and I'll be talking at you every now and then. PS. How's the book coming?less
Hey Muggle, yep, it is indeed the time of the year for lot's of outdoor fun, and we certainly have lots of "outdoor" around here to have fun in!! Getting ready in a little while to go do maintenance on all the outdoor equip. to start all that fun.....wanna come help?
Well Todd, what a lovely attitude you have. Here the atheists are always screaming that we Christians should practice more giving to the needy, and here you are saying that Christians giving to the needy is a diabolical plot. So which is it? With your attitude, there should be no tax credits, period. Is that what you believe?
Todd, did you really say this...."This is what happens when people from all walks of life are allowed to openly discuss situations like this." You know, there are quite a few countries around the world that definitely would NOT allow it, if you would prefer that then why don't you go live in one of them?
Actually RB, I was responding more to Todd's post with my comment, but you are correct that we all have our opinions on these type of things. But you have not addressed the issue of why the rules should change in my example below, just because one is a secular charity and one a religious one. I do not see the difference between the issue of charities vs. private schools re a religious issue.
