  • Christians Conflicted over Housing Rights for Gays

You claim to worship a man who dined with prostitutes and tax collectors, but you have "reservations" about whether or not to permit homosexuals to live near you? What kind of twisted, backwards tribe is this?

  • Seminary Still Plans to Evict Assocation over Homosexuality Issue

I assume that the Seminary will soon be expelling its College Republicans for attempting to violate Romans 13:1.

  • Poll: 8 in 10 Say Prayer Saved Giffords

What do the 8 in 10 have to say for the 9-year old child who was murdered here, or any of the many others who died on the scene or later succumbed to their wounds? This is like the man who reads about 99 people dying in an airplane crash and praises God for the survival of the hundredth: a fool. • The Moral Revolution in Full View

Who is a Christian to lecture others about morality? Christianity teaches that morality, that right action and good works, are totally irrelevant. Christianity teaches that doing good means nothing to the creator of the universe; what matters to him is only one's submission to the name of his son. Christianity teaches that doing good means nothing to the creator of the universe; what matters to him is only one's submission to the name of his son. On the one hand, your apologetics goes out of its way to ridicule the notion that morality matters to God, but on the other hand, you all say that Christianity is the only acceptable basis for morality. So which is it? Does right and wrong matter? Of course not- it's Jesus that matters. Don't be coy about your doctrines; you know what the Bible says about false prophets.less

  • Atheist Depicts Christians as Delusional in 'Story of Suzie' Video

The Christian apologist's responses with which this article is liberally sprinkled do not convince me. The Christian apologist's responses with which this article is liberally sprinkled do not convince me. First, it is not a response at all to say that only God can give such a standard, because that is precisely the point of the problem of evil- that evil is a problem of internal coherence for theism, meaning that once theism assumes the moral standard, it is easily shown that their God does not live up to it. Whether or not there is such a standard is irrelevant, only that Christianity requires both that standard and its seemingly flagrant frequent violations by God.

Second, think about the disgusting message of the analogy to dentistry, that there is somehow some reward to be gained for all evil. That means that God sees it fit only to parse out his rewards to people after he mercilessly tortures them or kills them without reason or explanation, yet others seem to participate in these rewards without first having their families slaughtered in a tidal wave (for example). This means that God is a particularly nasty being because his rewards, sort of like the cheese given to rats after a few rounds of electroshock, have nothing to do with the proportion of his punishments.

And of course, Christianity teaches that this simply is not true. If a Hindu child is killed by an evil that God could have corrected, her soul will burn in hell for eternity regardless of how much suffering she went through; God rewards Christians, not sufferers. God is evil.less

Between a secular interpretation of Christianity and strict fundamentalist creationism, the middle position is the most absurd. People who accept evolution but also believe that God guided or oversaw the process have an insurmountable problem: evolution is a vicious, destructive, inefficient process. Two billion years of ruthless competition had to pass before we arose, and the path between then and now was filled with natural disaster, predation, starvation, competition for resources, and interspecies genocide. If this is the process that God used to create us, then God is either a breathtakingly incompetent tinkerer, or an unconscionably vicious brute.less

History will remember him only as the villain's bumbling sidekick whose incompetence was instrumental in the failure of his boss Nixon's plot to sabotage the Constitution. The phony piety he's assumed since then to try to get us all to forgive him has sadly worked with so many American "Christians" who are more eager to serve the Repubican Party than they are to serve Jesus, but not with me. Matthew 7:21 cautions us to be careful of these false prophets, and the Christian Post has fallen for it.less

  • Archaeologists Claim to Have Found Oldest Human Remains in Israel

Whoops, that might be confusing. I didn't mean "species" there at the end as a discrete phylogenetic "branch" on the bush of life, I meant "species" as kind. Just a different kind of ancestor of either humans, Neanderthals, or both.
