My Grandfather and father minister two different churches with a set of elders. The reason why they don't serve one church is that my Grandfather and Father do not agree on some intepretation of scriptures. They both feel lead by the Holy Spirit and think each other is wrong.

We are saved by Grace, through faith working in love. This was we Catholics have always believed. It is the statement that was a part of the joint declaration signed by Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists and Anglicans. It is God's free gift and we must choose to respond to it. Our response are works. These works reveal a true faith that converts and regenerates a person vs. a faith that cannot save and a heart that won't accept the love of Christ and trust in Him for their salvation.

I am pretty new to the Catholic faith, but formerly I was an associate pastor for my dad's church. I am a third generation evangelical pastor, who just converted to the Catholic faith. I believed very similar to you, since our church had baptist, calvinist leanings. I then realized this is not how the early Christians who were discipled by the Apostles believed. They believed as the Catholic Church does, and so I realized that I was wrong.

Well, she was wrong for saying Paul was wrong. The fact is Paul was about the WORKS OF THE LAW since he was a Jew, not the Works we do responding to God's grace.

I come from a family where I was until recently a third generation evangelical pastor. I converted recently, because the Catholic Church is true Apostolic Christianity. When you says the Bible says this, what you are really saying is,"My interpretation of these words are right and yours' are wrong." The Bible is inerrant and infallible, but you are not and either am I and that is why we have an infallible Church to guide us.

Some of the Bible can be easy to understand, but many parts that on the surface seem simple are quite complex. I'm not sure if you went to Seminary, but if you did then you would realize that if you find 10 Theologians, you can find 10 different responses to scripture. So, you issue isn't with Catholic at all. You're issue is with anyone who doesn't share your interpretation.

Along the way you will realize you have no authority to interpret as I did, so you will seek the Church that has Christ authority and become Catholic.less

The Catholic Church many times during history did punish Jews, and that was an unfortunate time in history. Although, you can't find Catholic persecution of the Jews in the last 600 years. In fact, the bilk of persecution in this area is owned by Lutheran Germany, Anglican England and Protestant Scandinavians. Luther hated the Jews and was in the minority of what Catholics believed.
