  • Gay Rights Agenda Is Shutting Down Debate on Homosexuality, Says Author

Wow! 700 pages. It takes a lot of words to dispute a simple declaration of personal liberty, "I know which bathroom to use." Sorry, no footnotes required.

  • Christian Right Leaders Return to War Room over DOMA

This is hilarious. It reminds me of the 70's sitcom where the main character would tell a lie and then keep elaborating on it until it became untenable and the whole story collapsed. The actors in this drama are working really hard to keep their lie together, and they are getting desperate. Good luck guys You're at the end of your rope. What's the lie? Does anybody know?

  • Christian Right Leaders Return to War Room over DOMA

"In the third area is the loss of parental right, where parents actually lose the right to instruct their children in biblical ways regarding sexual expression," the San Diego pastor said.... Ok, I've been looking for those instructions. Where are those Biblical verses regarding sexual expression and what exactly is "sexual expression'. Is a blooming daffodil "sexual expression".

Aha! Jim Garlow found a "consumned right"..."[There] is tremendous loss of personal freedom. You cannot operate in this world negating the notion of homosexual marriage without being accused of being a discriminator, intolerant," said Garlow.... You know that is in the Bill of Rights, right? "Congress shall pass no law that allows for one to be accused of being intolerant by his or her peers"

    Flagged as inappropriate. show

"It (same-sex marriage) ends up consuming all other rights," warned Bauer...... Really? Please enumerate. Isn't there something in the Bible about "bearing false witness". I could swear that used to be a sin. Is Bauer a post-modernist? hide

  • Christian Right Leaders Return to War Room over DOMA

"The whole institution of marriage, God's institution, is literally hanging by a thread on how one Supreme Court justice out of nine will vote," Bauer said during the private conference call. Is God's institution that weak? The Christians I know are tougher than Bauer. Is it too harsh to call Bauer's behavior pathetic?

  • Crystal Cathedral Bans Homosexuality in Choir

Did they publish a definition of "homosexual behavior". Box Turtle Bulletin has a great post about Sinful Thanksgiving Homosexual Behavior. Does this count? Should the recipe be banned? www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2010/11/25/28071

  • DOMA Repeal Bills and Holes in the Gay Rights Argument

gos...philus, Suggest you read "The First Paul" by Borg and Crossan. They explain that the honest way to read Paul is to interpret his words in the context of first century Rome. It's rather silly to interpret Scripture by imposing 21st century culture and English translations and prejudices back onto of Paul.

  • DOMA Repeal Bills and Holes in the Gay Rights Argument

Why is it that individual rights are inalienable so long as they don't belong to GLBT people? In Loudoun County, VA, the anti-gays are protesting a common sense ordinance which will require fencing to keep livestock out of streams and create riparian buffers. Why is it that individual rights are inalienable so long as they don't belong to GLBT people? In Loudoun County, VA, the anti-gays are protesting a common sense ordinance which will require fencing to keep livestock out of streams and create riparian buffers. They are claiming an inalienable right to pollute. I explained that my husband and I have an inalienable right to engage in the homosexual behavior otherwise known as "gay creek wading". But we can't because our creek is polluted. Conclusion, the anti-gays will do or say anything, they'll even destroy the earth, if it will prevent any and all "behaviors" that they dislike. Good luck. I think Jesus wrote a parable about seeds (anti-gay arguments) that fall on dry parched earth.

The funniest thing is that we are so out and well-know in the county that the anti-gays treat us like a married couple. They have no choice because they recognize that that's what we are. The dissonance must be difficult for them. That's why people pray.less

  • Reps Urged to Back Religious Freedom Bill for Asia & Middle East

It would be nice if Congressman Wolf would support religious freedom here at home. For example, Wolf was interviewed by the discredited Pastor Jay Ahlemann who stole $4M from unsuspecting parishioners. During that interview, Congressman Wolf agreed that Muslims weren't really Americans.

  • Boys Wrestling Girls – A Clash of Worlds and Worldviews

If a wrestling match ever "turns violent", then there should be a disqualification. There are takedowns, and escapes, near pins and pins, but no "violence" per se. Wrestlers do not grope each other. They use limbs as levers to manipulate their opponents bodies. There are no crotch grabs - illegal - and no breast grabs - no leverage. This is only a story because it exposes an archaic patriarch...more

Um, do we need to state the obvious? A boy may touch another boy's "sexual parts" and according to the Bible, that would be much worse, wouldn't it? Am I missing something?

  • Is Academic Bias Against Conservatives Real? An Amazing Admission

The problem is that the terms liberal and conservative have lost their meaning. For example, if one believes that God's creation is to be managed and not squandered for profit, that's a "conservative" principal. Conservation and conservative have the same root. The unscientific poll by Dr Haidt reveals its own bias. It doesn't reveal anything about the understanding of the audience. It only reveals how they react to labels and conveniently for Albert Mohler Jr. it panders to those who like to play the victim.

A better question that more precisely captures the essence of the question would have been:

"Do you operate in the reality-based world of facts and evidence?" One would hope that all of the participants would have answered 'yes', and no, that answer shows no bias at all.less

  • Calling Good 'Evil' and Evil 'Good'

I guess they could have demonstrated to the religious authority's satisfaction "that the abortion was strictly required to save the woman's life" if they had let her die. If I recall correctly, they once had a similar test to demonstrate that a woman wasn't a witch.

What do you mean ex-gays aren't on the list? They are on the list three times: 1. Religion - ex-gays are Christian fundamentalists 2. Sexual orientation - ex-gays are straight, right? 3. Sexual orientation - just in case ex-gays really aren't straight, they are still covered
