That has to be the most blatantly offensive and insulting comment I could imagine reading after an article about this tragedy. It is plain and simple your directed attact against Christians, only instead of an assault rifle you sign yourself up on a Christian website to wage a crusade against Christians. To come to the conclusion that Christianity twisted his mind instead of an entertainment culture that is literally steeped in blood and violence just shows that no matter what information you hear, you just want to attack Christians. I have nothing against you, but it is obvious you need to vent some form of angst against a distinct group of people. Would you attack Jews in the same way? Or Muslims? Your comment is discriminatory and hateful. You say the bible has stories about violence, but it can't compare to the massive history of atrocities committed by "Godless Infidels." If you lump all crimes committed by Christians and lay them at their feet, then its fair to lump all crimes committed by the Godless and lay them at your feet.

Yet another example of the hypocrisy and cowardice that often rears its head in the arts and media. Marilyn Manson will burn a bible on stage, but if he dared burn a Quran he would have to live under armed guard the rest of his life. Southpark, Family Guy and the rest of the trash on cable television will mock our Savior as a silly cartoon, but dare they make an image of Muhamad? Not likely. Ask Salman Rushdie how it feels living with a Fatwa. Everyone knows you can lampoon the Christians all you want and for the most part, the real ones, will just turn the other cheek. It's like hunting sheep with a high powered rifle and boasting of your hunting prowess. Great job guys. That's real art. You should be proud.

You'll note that I did not use any verses because there are none about whose genetic material was neccesary. That was the entire point. I was hoping you could point out those passages for me, cuz try as I might, I can't seem to find them. I was not the one that made the statement of certainity on Jesus' genetic material. I was pointing out the certainity you had on making such a statement and how such certainity cannot be claimed. We know Mary bore Christ, we do not know that her genetic information was used at all. I have no problem with the Bible, I use it to prove all things, instead of using movies about it. The truth is the Bible is completely silent on the issue of Christ's genetic material. We know He was born of Mary, legal son of Joseph, but do not know that half or any of His genetic material was taken from Mary as you so confidently stated. It is possible that is how God chose to do it, we simply don't know, but it does nothing for your argument about worshipping Mary.

truthandjustice-tell me where it says in the Bible that Mary provided Jesus' genetic material. We have no way of knowing that the fact that Jesus being born of Mary was sufficient enough to fulfill the Old Testament prophecies about Him being a son of David or that He somehow needed her genetic material to qualify. Jesus is the last Adam, remember the first Adam had no mother to supply his genetic information, created directly by God, also remember Christ is compared in Hebrews to the king of Salem, who had no parents mentioned in Genesis to supply his genetic information. We DO know that Christ was born of Mary, a descendant of King David, and was by law Joseph's son, another descendant of King David. We do not know that Jesus needed Mary's genetic material. We know she was caused to conceive by the Holy Spirit, we do not know that it means He was caused by the Holy spirit to recieve Mary's genetic information. It's possible that's the way it happened, but it does not help the argument because it is without ground. No one can pretend to have that knowledge. She was the worthy vessel to bear the Savior of the world. One of the interesting talents of God is His unique ability to create a body of flesh, genetic material and all. I'm sure He could provide one for His son and we have no idea how that occurred. The dust provided Adam's genetic material, his complex DNA. Using a movie to back up doctrine only shows the weak foundation upon which it stands. We should not loftily say things that we do not know.

  • Muslims Urge Taliban to Release Korean Christian Hostages

To sacrifice and leave the comfort of their homes to be a shining example of a Christian through doing the work they were doing, aid work, is doing God's will. To be a Christian in Afghanistan is a high risk. I highly doubt they were there sight seeing. I think any one of us would be grief stricken and terrified, even those strong in the faith. Job had faith and was full of terror at his plight. To be a Christian does not mean you stop being human. Anyways, by being an example of a Christian among persecution and hate in Afghanistan is God's cause.

As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.--John 9:4

I am stunned by the utter insensitivity and hatred. It is becoming illegal to speak certain aspects of our faith in free countries, and we're condemned when we do it in other countries. How long until evangelism is no longer considered protected free speech in our own countries? And evangelism is violently oppressed in many Muslim countries. I have a growing fear that night is coming. But as our Savior said "Be not anxious."
