By reading this post, I have become stressed out and I am no longer able to carry on life as usual. Bradley Fowler has offended be beyond repair, and I highly doubt I'll be able to sleep comfortably tonight. I shall sue him.

I'm sorry this is CHRISTIAN? "Bridge to Terabithia" denies salvation through Christ twice, I Am Legend uses God's name in vain several times, Transformers talks about masturbation, and Live Free or Die Hard is far from Christian. Why is the Church acting just like the world?

All this arguing is absolutely senseless, and is the result of many not willing to pick up their Bibles and conform their way of thinking to God's. It is wrong for Christians to team up with the unsaved for the common good because the Bible says it is. (2nd Cor 6:14) There we go, argument settled. The Bible says to watch for false prophets. They will be in sheeps clothing, so they will seem like nice people. People who no longer accept the truth, but are more interested in their own lusts will heap to themselves teachers like this.. so they will have large followings. Ring a bell? Reg flag anyone? By golly, that sounds just like Rick Warren!
What about Holiness Joyce? Oh that's right, people might not buy your books and help you pay the mortgages on all your vacation homes if you talk about that.
In Luke 6, Jesus says that we are blessed when men reject us because that's how their fathers treated the false prophets. Verse 26 goes as far as to say, But woe unto you when all men speak well of you, because that's how their fathers treated the false prophets. Unless you're Biblically grounded, you will LOVE Rick Warren. He's nice, he's funny, and he'll never say anything offensive. On the other hand, he supports gathering together with unbelievers for the common good which is a direct violation of 2nd Corinthians 6:14. He's a people pleaser, which is spoken against in Galatians 1:10. He relies on the wisdom of men rather than the Word of God, which is spoken against in Jeremiah 17:5-10 and 1st Corinthians 1:17-31.
I don't care who you are or what you think... your heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. (Jeremiah 17:9) The Word of God is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12) The Word of God speaks against nearly everything Rick Warren says and does. He's a false teacher. A wolf in sheep's clothing.

The video I was speaking of was actually about the Ecumenical Movement, and you can find it on YouTube by doing a search for "Ecumenical Movement." I was not speaking of holidays when it comes to compromisation with pagans, I was speaking of idol worship. The doctrine of the Catholic Church is not based on the Bible, but based on early writings of so-called Church fathers. If Mary, the mother of Jesus, were to walk into a Catholic Church and hear people praying to her and worshipping images of her she would fall down on her knees and scream in agony! God gets the glory, not Mary. The Catholic Church has no authority whatsoever, as it claims to have the authority to change Biblical law.
As for some others here, your theology is weak. Yes, some Muslims worship Christ as a prophet. But unless they worship Christ as savior, they will get nothing out of it.
There's a huge difference between loving and accepting somebody. I can love a homosexual, but I cannot accept their decision because I know it leads to Hell. The same can be said for a Muslim. Never did Christ or anyone in the Bible compromise the Christian faith for any other religion, accept when they turned their backs on God. That is what this is all about. We have a Gospel that can save these people, and instead of boldly preaching it we are watering it down and compromising.
When Paul preached to followers of false religions, he boldly preached the Gospel of Christ. He did not compromise, he didn't stick around to hear what they had to say about their false God's, and he didn't gather together with them to get a common understanding of God. Why? He already knew Him! He also already knew that the Gospel message had POWER, and did not need to change it to witness to anyone.

Generations ago a guy by the name of St. Malachy predicted that there would be 112 Popes after him, with the 112th defecting from the faith. Benedict is the 111th.
Not long ago there was a video that surfaced of the Pope praying with men of other religions. During the celebration he placed a statue of Buddha on the alter of God, claiming that he and the other religions leaders were praying a spirit of peace over the universe.
The Catholic Church has compromised with Paganism since it's very beginning, and today is no different. A common theology on God between the Catholics and Muslims could mean anything, including the coming kingdom of the antichrist.
Christians need to suit up at this point. It upsets me that so many Christians see no harm in this. I say this out of love, but admittedly with some frustration. Many of you need to shut your mouth and open your Bible. Why? Because the Bible is the Word of God, and is our foundation. The Bible is our standard of judgment and discernment. When we disagree with the Bible, we are always wrong. God's Word prevails... always. Our opionions do not matter at all. Read Jeremiah 17:5, what does it say about the heart? Compare that to Hebrews 4:12 and it's claim about the Word of God.
As Christians, we need to place our faith in the Word of God. Not our watered down opinions. I hate to sound so harsh but being a Christian doesn't mean we lose our backbone. We are to speak boldly the things that God would have us say. Not get all mushy and say what we feel is right. God is the judge and we are His servants. God is the Father and we have been given the right to become His children. Christ came to minister, not be ministered unto. Lets listen to Him, because even our hearts are deceitful above all things.

2nd Timothy 6:3-12 gives clear direction for Christians on how they should respond to prosperity preaching, and gives an open rebuke to such preaching.
As for the people pouring their money into false ministries such as Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, and Paula White... this is a perfect example of why we should study our Bibles instead of substituting them for TBN.

Telling your kids not to have sex and then buying them birth control and condoms is like telling them not to fight and buying them a pair of boxing gloves. However, I do agree with the earlier poster in regard to wasting our taxpayer money on videos about the evils of premarital sex. It's not the school system's job or responsibility to train our children in the way they should go, it's ours. It doesn't cost a dime for me to teach my kids morality and Biblical principle. If I have to pay somebody else to do that, I've failed as a parent as far as I'm concerned.

For a world that accuses Christians of "looking for something to complain about" and being hypocrites, they sure do a great job of making themselves hypocrites with that very accusation because all I hear from the world is crying and complaining. Somebody says "Merry Christmas" and somebody else cries. Somebody sends a Christmas card and somebody else rants.
I don't know how the government is going to react to all of the complaining. I'm not sure how the school systems and the local businesses are going to change. What I do know is this. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. When I send a Christmas card it has scripture on it. If somebody is offended by that, I'm sure I can find another card with some scripture on it suitable to send them as an apology.
Barbara Walters is a dime a dozen. Just another voice among many uselessly flapping so that she can have the false sense that people actually care about her opinion.
Common sense is fine, but it's not perfect. The Word of God is perfect. GotQuestions.org is a pretty good website that heavily relies on the Word of God for guidance in answering questions people have about the Bible.
http://www.gotquestions.org/death-penalty.html
Check out what that link has to say about the death penalty. It's very Biblical and they rely more on the Bible than on the opinions of men.
I'm not saying we are to submit to the government under all costs. Peter and John boldly decided to preach Christ although their government institution forbid them to do so. Daniel prayed when it was outlawed by Nebechadnezzar. At the same time, Jesus paid taxes and said everyone else ought to as well. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
Check out the study I linked above, and it pretty much lays it out.
I think it's pretty evident that many of you have not looked at the scripture that Astorino posted earlier, so I will post it here and make it easy for you.
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. BUT IF THOU DO THAT WHICH IS EVIL, BE AFRAID; FOR HE BEARETH NOT THE SWORD IN VAIN: for he is the minister of God, a REVENGER to EXECUTE WRATH upon him that doeth evil."
- Romans 13:1-4 (KJV) (Caps added)
When Jesus spoke of an "eye for an eye" he was not talking about the governments relationship tot he citizens. He was talking about taking revenge into our own hands. Paul however was talking about the government's relationship to the people, and goes as far as to say that he (the ruler) is a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
I am very aware of God's grace, but I'm also aware of God's authority. I cannot ignore God's authority to make Him look more graceful, nor can I ignore His grace to make Him look more authorative.
Many of you are quick to quote popular scriptures, but it's evident that you haven't studied this subject from a Biblical perspective.
As Astorino has already pointed out with scripture, Capital punishment is Biblical. We recently did a study on this at the Bible study I attend using a whole mess of scripture, and we all concluded that Capital Punishment is Biblical. It is very important for the Bible to be our foundation when it comes to expressing our opinions on whether or not God would or would not support something. We live in a "Bumper Sticker Philosophy" world where phrases like "God loves you" and "We're all God's children" become the foundation of our outlook. Read the Bible and you'll see that God may love mankind, but John 1 states that we BECOME God's children through Christ. We think of the "Thou shalt not kill" commandment and right away assume capital punishment is wrong. Jesus clairifes this commandment later, defining it as murder. Nowhere does the Bible condemn the act of taking somebodies life to save another, which is the foundation of things like war, capital punishment, and various self defense scenarios. Of course, if these things are done unjustly or with bad intent, they are wrong.
For those of you who constantly give "thumbs down" to express your disproval of the Biblical truth being presented to you. I want you to know that through you, the prophecy of 2nd Timothy 4:3 has been fulfilled. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears." Welcome to those times. There are many of you who flood yourselves with messages that ignore sin and righteousness, and teach you how to store up for yourselves treasures on earth. Guys like Rick Warren and Bill Hybels invite successful leaders of businesses and organizations to teach so-called "pastors" how to run their Churches. Christians know that real success in the Church comes from obedience to God and His Word, and things like Holiness and Righteousness. Instead of focusing on these things, guys like Warren seek the world for wisdom. Read 1st Corinthians 1, and even 2 and 3 to see what God says about the world's wisdom. Read Ephesians 5:11 and see what God has to say about our relationship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Read Psalm 1 and tell me if it's acceptable to walk in the counsel of the wicked.
I want to make it clear that I am a nobody. My opinion is worth nothing in regard to the Kingom. That is why I do not tell you my opinion. I tell you what the Word of God says. Even I speak with authority when I speak the Word, because it is not my authority nor my word that I am relaying right here.
Bottom line: The Bible declares Rick Warren is a false teacher, because it condemns his methods and practices.
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall seperate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Woe unto you, when men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
- Luke 6:22-23, 26
Pastors like Rick Warren and Joel Osteen pride themselves on being the kind of preacher that doesn't offend anyone and is accepted by anyone. They preach as if to tickle the ears of their congregations, putting more emphasis on humor and encouraging than on preaching truth. Because of this, men speak well of them. Pastors like Mark Cahill, Paul Washer, Ray Comfort, and David Wilkerson preach truth, yet you won't find their articles on a people pleasing site liek this one. Beware of teachers like Rick Warren. They may seem great, but if you truly compare their methods to the Bible it will be easy to see they are false teachers. Rick Warren is a humanist, and the destruction satan has caused through his blindness has affected many churches and families. Meanwhile, he hides his destructive teachings behind phrases like "break through methods" and "thinking outside of the box." God have mercy on his soul when he learns that the 'box' that he thinks outside of is none other than Biblical Doctrine.

I'm always saddened and discouraged when I see Christians so easily swayed. The article above openly states that Clinton supports both abortion and gay rights. But, because she can quote the Bible, some 'evangelicals' now support her. Satan can quote the Bible too, perhaps we should ignore the whole corrupting the world issue and vote him into office.
Does this really come as a surprise to anyone? Paula and Randy White are human beings just like the rest of us. I'm sorry to hear that they have had troubles. On the other hand, I'm not surprised at all. The article even states they've been to counseling many times. Is their hope in God or in the wisdom of men? Secondly, what about covetousness? Paula is obviously materialistic, and Randy isn't exactly hiding it with his 'beachfront Church.' Paula and Randy White are among many popular liberal preachers, who have no intention on truly following the Word or the Will of God.
There's a bush outside of my house, and the leaves turn red every fall. I never really notice the leaves turning colors. I see this bush every day, but never notice that it's turning until it's too late. One day the leaves are green, and then it's like over night they turn pitch red. But it doesn't happen like that. They change little by little, until one day I wake up and notice that it has changed drastically. That is what is happening with the Church. Things are changing little by little. The Bible says, however, that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. So that is a ray of hope for people seriously concerned with holiness.
I was happy to see a quote from John Piper on this website, because Piper is pretty serious about Biblically doctrine. No offense, but on this site that is very rare.
Rick Warren's humanistic, lukewarm antics have caused a lot of trouble with family and friends of mine. We've left a Church because of their endorsement of him. Rick Warren needs to realize that God has power over AIDS. The pulpit isn't a place for people who are running for office to come pretend they care about AIDS and pull in some votes.

The "word" homosexuality isn't the issue here. It's the common sense, black and white scripture in Romans where Paul talks about men lying with men as they would woman, and vice versa. This woman claims the Bible is misinterpreted because of the lack of research and knowledge. God chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, not vice versa. Interpretation of the Bible comes through the Holy Spirit, not college seminars. It's one thing to occasionally sin out of habit, but it's another to accept a sinful lifestyle like homosexuality. This is another example of the Bible being MORE about us than it is God, which is what is happening in today's world. There is liberty in Christ, but those who endorse sins like homosexuality are not using their liberty; they're abusing it. There is a God that accepts homosexuality, but it's not the one, true God. It's a God that liberal man has created, and it's a God that's more concern with pleasing than being pleased. Liberals use the cross of Christ as a license to do whatever they please, and need to wake up before it's too late.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
