I'm frankly appalled by this, sickened to the very core of my soul that we live in a country where this is possible. The progress of humanity is retarded by initiatives such as this, innocent children being completely lied to, as if there were any conflict between creationism and science, we cannot even keep up with other countries on standardized tests in science, our own students lagging far behind, and still we waste what precious time we have, time that by rights should be used for real science, to misrepresent a universally supported theory, without which none of modern biology would make any sense. It is criminal, a travesty, and should not be tolerated

I address this to argyle86, the nazi regime is evil sure, so is arson, serial murder, and cruelty to kittens, but all of these things are only evil because no one wants to live in a society where one can murder, rape, or persecute an entire ethnic group at will. Evil is not something "actual" it is imaginary, and were you the most evil, murderous, unrepentant, black-hearted monster to ever live you would still meet no different a fate than say mother Theresa. There is no final reckoning, no judgment at all for what we do here

  • Ted Haggard Speaks on Scandal for First Time

I think its fine that Ted did this, not the apology I mean, but the act for which he is so repentant. Which I feel is strange because doubtless God must be pleased with him, since we are constrained to do what we are going to do. He has nothing to feel sorry for, I mean Augustine berates himself endlessly for the hell-worthy trespass of stealing a pear from a tree which was not his. I say all of this is needless, the guilt, the remorse, but of course the symbol of our faith is a cross, a torture device. Self torture, we are to grovel, I grovel now because I just can't feel guilt or remorse for anything I do. I ask all of you, am I lost for this? is it possible for someone to be so made that they cannot believe? Will my total lack of discomfiture about any horrible thing I do consign me to an eternity of woe and flames? I ask this in all possible seriousness, so please do not take my tone to be at all satirical or sarcastic. I wish to know, to ease my mind
