  • State Rep. Kern, Openly Gay Pastor Spar Over Homosexual Lifestyle

I attend a bible study led by a gay (formerly a pastor) woman - woho is studying for her doctorate in theology at one of the premier Christian Seminaries. The bible study is absolutely wonderful and the presence of the holy spirit in our group is unmistakable. All I know is that God is the judge...not me, not you. While I do not believe that gay people are sinners by their innate clearly bioligically driven preference, for those that do believe they are sinners I say "He who is without sin cast the first stone". Take the log out of your own eye before you try to take the speck out of another's.

It is shocking to read such bigoted comments by those that purport to be Christians. I expect many of you will be shocked when you find that heaven includes many who did not bear the title "Christian" on this Earth, but who are in fact children of God. Jesus' commandment is one of love and inclusion and peace. Bush did not espouse these beliefs by his acts. Obama has the policies which most mirror the teachings of Jesus than any other candidate. As to Wright's comments...didn't God punish Bablyon and those that gave themselves over to greed and godlessness. THe fact is that USA has not promoted policies that are in line with the teachings of Christ. In fact this society has been hedonistic. I don't believe God orchestrated 9/11 but I do believe it is partially a consequence of our hedonistic and Roman like dominance and control of the rest of the world. The Great Roman Empire crumbled and the USA is repeating history.

Right Wing Christianity is the antithesis of Christ's teachings. Christ was pretty clear on his commandment of love and inclusion and not judging. Wake up Right Wingers! Read Revelations...remember what becomes of the church that purports to be righteous.

  • Obama Suggests Jesus Christ Not the Only Way to Heaven

Not all Christians believe that only Christians go to heaven. Many Christians are the antipathy of what Jesus taught, which was a ministry of inclusion not exclusion. No, Christianity is not an exclusive club. We can not judge who will and won't go to heaven...that is for God to judge. One of my daughter's most loving wonderful teachers was a black muslim woman. I don't believe this loving woman is condemned to hell. Many Christians will be shocked to arrive in Heaven and find that God loves all of his children regardless of the labels they bore on this earth.
