  • Driscoll: Without Jesus, You Go to Hell

SB, how do you know that you had a relationship with Jesus to begin with and are you willing to explain your conversion story?

  • Driscoll: Without Jesus, You Go to Hell

Without Jesus, You Go to Hell…Sadly, this will be the experience of many; however, for those who repent and believe the gospel remains blessed now and forevermore… “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. • Growing Intolerance for Christianity in U.S.

MereChristian, I agree; others know that we have been taught to turn the other cheek [love our enemies] and so they take advantage of this. On the issue of Christian unity there is I believe a unity that goes far beyond an organizational unity; that is, a unity based on the essential truths of Scripture. Besides, there are divisions within every faith including Islam…

Believer, I too share that concern. Will the teachers be believers who possess a genuine reverence for the Word of God or at least someone who can appreciate it for its sheer poetry and history? Or will it be someone who wrests the Scriptures to their own destruction by spiritualizing away specific truths on which the Christian faith rests? As a parent I would definitely want a copy of that Bible curriculum and occasionally to sit in to listen on what is being taught; although, we shouldn’t leave the teaching of the Christian faith in the hands of these public schools…less

This is really no surprise. The World hates Biblical Christianity and is becoming more intolerant of it because we preach Christ’s message of “…sin…righteousness…and the coming judgment” [John 16:8].less

So long as this class remains an elective and is not dogmatically taught; that is, there is not just one denominational perspective being imposed in the classroom; I see nothing wrong with it.

  • Why Is Hell Forever?

Hi Dale, you stated, “…as long as there is eternal life, there will be eternal punishment.” Actually, the wages of sin is death [Romans 6:23; James 5:20; Ezekiel 18:20; Revelation 20:14-15] not eternal life in Hell and for clarification eternal life is a gift not an inherent right. By the way I am not a Universalist as you suppose; there will be a Hell in which the lost will be punished according to their sins as you stated; however, they then will cease to exist. Also, Matthew 25 does not define the “nature” of eternal life or eternal death; rather this parable simply affirms that there are but two destinies; life and death…Besides, it is the “fire” that is described as being everlasting or eternal or unquenchable not that which is cast into it…

A Biblical example of this is Sodom and Gomorrah; Jude 7 says these cities suffered the vengeance of “eternal fire” and Peter commenting on this event says these were turned into “ashes.” This same language is used when describing the destruction of the wicked in Malachi 4:1-3 and in Ezekiel 28:18-19 when describing the destruction of Lucifer [that covering cherub]. Q: How do you explain “eternal fire” bringing to ashes Lucifer [a spirit being/an angel] and the wicked?less

  • Why Is Hell Forever?

Hi MuggleBorn, there are several passages that come to mind that say the wicked will suffer “death” [Romans 6:23]; will suffer “destruction” [Job 21:30]; they will “perish” [Psalm 37:20]; they will “burn up” [Malachi 4:1]; they shall be “destroyed together” [Psalm 37:38]; they will “consume away” [Psalm 37:20]; but “all the wicked will he destroy” [Psalm 145:20]; & the ...more

Also, notice that Malachi speaking of the wicked says, “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts” [Malachi 4:3]. Ezekiel also uses similar language when speaking of Lucifer [that cherub that covereth]; speaking of the fire he says, “…it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth…” & “…never shalt thou be any more” [Ezekiel 28:18-19].

Today there are several Evangelical scholars teaching Conditionalism like F.F. Bruce, Michael Green, Philip E. Hughes, Dale Moody, Clark H. Pinnock, W. Graham Scroggie, John R.W. Stott, John W. Wenham and Oscar Cullman. There is a book entitled “Two Views of Hell: A Biblical & Theological Dialogue” by Edward William Fudge & Robert A. Peterson that presents both sides of the argument; it is a good read if you care to research this further…less

  • Catholic Support for Traditional Marriage May be Higher than Analysis Claims

Funny how Roman Catholics claim that Jesus founded their faith but when we turn to the New Testament many of their traditions are noticeably absent...” Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ” [Colossians 2:8].

Natural disasters are only one aspect mentioned in Holy Scripture; they also speak of a coming global government and global religion. “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness” [2 Peter 3:13].

  • The Gospel of Inclusion and Confusion

Full, Roman Catholicism denies the doctrine of grace alone as can be seen in their official declarations; the Catechism of the Catholic Church, par. 2010 says, "Moved by the Holy Spirit and by charity, we can then “merit” for ourselves and for others the graces needed for our sanctification." Again, Rome denies the Biblical Doctrine of salvation by grace alone…
